Lowell LTC appointment

I have my appointment next Tuesday on the 6th in lowell MA. I'm nervous but I'm not a prohibited person, lowell just sucks. Obviously won't even know if I'm denied or not for several weeks/ or montha but still, wish me luck. I'll keep it updated for any future lowell applicants I guess.
If your record is squeaky clean there isn't much to worry about.....I believe lowell used to do restrictions but post bruen they can't issue restricted ltc so you should be fine.

You will be fine.

The only concern is how long they will take to issue your LTC.

Please let us know when they try to blame the State for making you wait.

This.

How long did you have to wait for the appointment??

That's the other way that they dick you around. Medford was (is???) notorious for making you wait 6 months for an appointment for your "interview".

My friend took her LTC class 2 weeks ago, and submitted her application online immediately afterwards. Went into the Medford police station for an interview on Monday and they said she will receive her LTC in 6 weeks.

I called for an interview halfway thru September. I applied with the mircs portal a few weeks ago but my npvember date stood, and that was fine with me

Back when we lived in Lowell ('01-'08) the Lowell PD policy was to deny all applications unless the applicant was police, retired police, elected official, or had already been a victim of violent crime with police reports to back it up. Of course there were other unwritten exceptions like making big donations to the ruling class or cash tips to the right people.

The late 1900s - early 200os were bad days indeed for anyone looking to get a handgun license. I lived in Arlington at the time and was interested in getting a license. A firearms instructor I talked to told me the chief could simply say "we're not issuing licenses at this time" and it was perfectly legal nothing you could do about it.

A friend lived in Arlington. Just before we went out, he told his license expired a few days ago. I joked, "watch, we won't get two blocks."
We took his sister-in-law's car. Well wouldn't you know. Expired inspection sticker. Rolled past an Arlington cruiser, The night lit up like the 4th of July. When next thing we knew there were 5 cruisers and a paddy wagon. I'm surprised Arlington cops don't have the highest per capita body count in the state by now. This was around 1988 when I was in college. 27 at the time.

Hello,

I live in Lowell and got my LTC for the first time last year and went through pretty simple. In the appointment was sent to get pictures taken, no interview or anything just was told to wait if approved I would get it. And I got it 4 months later. So yeah as long as your clean and stuff should be fine.
