Whoa- did they start with this and not air it online?

**Edit**
Having watched all the video's, I'm pretty sure they did not air this on the stream I was watching. They started with construction plans and continued on through something about a vacant business front downtown and a flyer on a window, through to the inadequicies of becoming a constable, which is where I started zoning waiting for words like "2nd amendment" and "Concealed Carry" to snap me back, they never came on the stream.

Nice job folks. This is how it is done. I recognize the names of a couple of speakers as they've contacted Comm2A.

Was their any mention or acknowledgement by the council of the lawsuit Comm2A filed against the town?

Shame out of towners can't generally speak, as a resident of a neighboring town, the only difference between us (besides 3 miles) is that I have CC.

That whole segment made no sense, what is her point?

fairness.... DUH!

btw, i heard your heavy sigh ;)

unfortunately i think she was put into a position that she had to comment on something that she has no clue what she's talking about. so i'm inclined to cut her a little slack. Gun laws in this state, as we all know, are convoluted.

"too many bad gun owners in the city" - Ummmm, I think you mean gangbangers.

The lady on 10 showed her cards clearly and her mindset is that of many of those in charge in lowell. "If I think someone is a bit off I dont want them to be given a license" "I dont want lowell handing out unrestricted licenses" "I dont want victims to have an unrestricted license" "Im scared of guns...they scare me...I dont like them.."

Great job by all those who spoke in defense of 2A, the restrictions by Lowell are unfair and unjust to say the least.

I think the disjointed and non-committal comments of the council members reflect, more than anything, an effort to watch their words very, very carefully. Although no mention was made of pending litigation over this very issue, council members are undoubtedly aware of the federal lawsuit. They're probably also well aware that number of gun owners in the state is steadily increasing and that the legislature fail last summer to pass the kind of gun control that Speaker DeLeo was selling.

Sooner rather than later they're going to have to do what Peabody has done and what Weymouth appears to be doing: deciding whether this is really an issue at all and if so, one worth fighting. All they have to do is look at the record in Davis v. Grimes to know that, at best, they're looking at a significant financial cost and an uncertain outcome. The Lowell case is in front of the same judge who, to his credit, is asking some really tough questions and putting all parties through their paces. If they're smart they're asking themselves, "Is this really an important issue? Is allowing people to carry guns really going to be a problem?". And if they answer 'yes' they also have to ask themselves if it's worth being practically the only ones fighting this.

Again, my thanks and congratulations to everyone that showed up last night. I would have loved to be there to watch.

using councilwoman merciers convoluted logic, if you speak at a council meeting you're a "good" person and should get your restrictions lifted[crying]

(a BIG +1 to darthrevan for his/her work in airing this)

Mercier is a hot air balloon. She's all rhetoric and clueless on the subject.

I really liked when the veteran, USN Captain spoke. He explained how he was a combat jet pilot with planes that carried all kinds of weapons, had security clearances up the ass, and was expert in pistol, etc.

Couldn't understand why Lowell can't trust him with a hand gun. Gee whiz.

My brother moved to lowell 2 years unrestricted
Government clearance and is trusted with moving explosives around the country when they send him out of state todo testing.....
He wanted to speak last night but wasn't able to

I just finished the videos. Mercier's voice sounds just like I figured it would. She should have just kept her mouth shut, instead of trying to say something meaningful. That was one of the biggest fails I've ever seen.

And who was the last blowhard in #11? Buddy, just keep your "because school shootings" nonsense to yourself.

Y'all gonna lose the lawsuit!

I just finished watching the videos and was really impressed at the ladies and gentlemen who spoke. They all came from different backgrounds but came together as true Patriots.
I don't know about the COP, but I would've been sinking in my seat and feeling embarrassed for denying ALPs to anyone who spoke. It's especially insulting to have the decorated and undecorated veterans who've kicked ass elsewhere but aren't allowed to take down some scumbag with nothing to lose.
