Looks like I got promoted

Just noticed, I'm a corporal. When did that happen..at 500 posts? When do I get promoted next?

It took me 13 months to make E4 when I was in the Army !

All it takes is a good war to speed up promotions. I was talking with a new neighbor years ago, and it turns out that we were both E5's before we turned 21, he in the Army (101st Airborne) and me in the Corps. Being in Massachusetts often bears an uncanny similarity ro being in country.

And I thought I made E-5 fast at 26 months and at 19. Of course, that was 1974, not much shooting going on then. 8)

There is much truth in what you say. A SP5 or an SP6 always seemed to have more credibility than a SGT or SSG. I remember CSM Clarke (the Intelligence School CSM at Devens) tell me that when he went from Specialist 6 to Staff Sergeant it was like a demotion.
