Looking for my first 1911

I'm looking around for my first 1911 and I keep falling back to a DW Valor in black. Every time I see a picture of one I know its the one. Anyone seen any around for sale anywhere? Are they as damn nice as they look?
you will end up with more than one. Buy something you can get now and keep your eyes open for the one you really want.
I am up to 5 now.

Yes they are as nice as they look. I just got a black Specialist, because I have a thing for the clark-rib-flattop look. The only thing I could possibly not like about that gun is the grips are like cheese graters, but that gun don't go anywhere in your hand. I think the Valor has less aggressive panels on it by default.

Thank you for your input, the Valor gives me a funny feeling when I drool over the pics so it will be that one. I see other ones and I just don't want a rail on it, my plastic guns have them and I don't want one on my 1911.

PM Parker Duofold or maybe he will chime in soon. He's got a few DW 1911s, including a Valor if I recall. I love my DW PM9, don't think I'd ever sell it.

DW valor, specialist or pointman all look great. i've never fired one but have fondled. those who own DW 1911's seem very happy with them. that says a lot especially from 1911 owners because they are usually the biggest babies and whiners of the gun community.

personally I love my sig 1911 TTT model. had to swap the ridiculous wood grip panels but for a sub $1k 1911, it comes w pretty much every feature from perfect front strap checkering to adjustable night sights. i would avoid the Sig target 1911 models because the rear dovetail is weird and not so compatible.

for a series 70 design, the S&W E-series are also great. the SW1911TA is the most accurate 1911 I have ever fired. it is flat out amazing.

the remington 1911R1 or Ruger SR1911 are also nice. the finish on the ruger to me is a bit suspect. i favor the remington. had an enhanced 1911R1 briefly but got a great offer on it so sold.
