I'm looking for some basic punches and roll pin punches so that I can completely disassemble my Sig P229. Sig offers a tool kit with 4 punches, a hammer, and a hemostat, but they're charging $150 for it. I'm just looking for a basic kit (with at least 1/8 and 1/16 inch punches).

I have a decent selection of hammers and mallets already, and I have the proper screwdriver to remove my grips, so I really just need the punches.

Does anyone have any specific kits or brands that they recommend? Also, is there a place that sells this kind of stuff except for the internet? I'm in Boston, but I could travel a bit if there's a cool store that's worth checking out.

Thanks.

Brownells is your friend! I've got a few sets of punches. One standard brass set, one standard steel set (both from Brownells) and a nice roll pin set from Snap on. The Snap on set was pricey but worth it. Lifetime warranty.
