From time to time we have retired show and/or breeder cats that we have neutered/spayed and would like to find special homes. These retired adult cats have served us well and deserve homes where they can now be a star. Preferable homes would consist of no other pets and with loving parents that can give them all the special attention that they so well deserve.

Me and the woman went and picked up our new 4 year old russian blue today.Shes a retired grand champion. her uterus probobly needs a break :P
ill have some pics if and when she ever comes out from in back of the washing machine. :)

What a little sweetie. Give her a cuddle for me (once you lure her out from behind the washing machine).

Well its been a not so smooth transition.
our first cat is none to happy about our new transplant. tons of hissing and fluffing tails and chasing and fighting. its been brutal.
then i came across this looking for solutions online

put a dab of vanilla extract under the chins, at
the base of their necks (by the spine) and at the base
of their tails (again, on the spine not the underside of
the tail!) of all of the cats to make them smell the
same. Cats recognize each other by scent, so if that
kitty smells the same as "me", the he must be a
friend. Kitty logic at it's finest. This trick works
when introducing cats into the household, and also
when one of them has been to the vet and therefore
smells different to the others who didn't go.

it was like night and day!! After i scented them both they couldnt care less about one another anymore, a complete 180!
A cats brain is evidently hard wired to scent. its nothing personal.
the only differentiation between friend and foe for a cat is smell. either you smell like us or your an interloper.
thought this tip might come in handy for some of you someday in the future. sure helped here!

Actually we lucked out with our strays. My first stray is a purebred Burmese. She has an attitude, our other stray is a big tiger. The only reason she accepted him,was because he is so mellow. He let her get used to him on her terms. He always annouced when he was coming into the same area as her. He would just lay on the floor if she was on the counter, etc. We had heard all the horror stories, but we had none. Tigre is more a dog in a cats body. The whole world is an adventure to him. Dogs don't bother him, nothing. Smudge is really good and if we tell her no she listens. The worst we had was Smudge growling at him. We'd tell her no and she would stop. I would not try this with any other cat though. Tigre is the only reason she came around. He really has brought her out of her shell this year. We catch them together, but we are not supposed to see it. She is funny that way.
