    Is it me?

    Am I evil?

I see threads come up that I have no interest in so I basically ignore them.

But when they get locked I have this overwhelming feeling that I have to read the whole thread. [thinking]

    Is that wrong?

I do the same thing. Though I usually start at the end to see what the mod said when they locked it, and go from there...

I do the same thing, I'm usually curious as to why they got locked. More often then not I'm disappointed, and can't understand why whatever it was warranted a locking of the thread.
Guess that's why I'm not a Mod. [rofl]

No it is not...came across a thread relating to Michelle Obama and found it locked. How come? Why? Politically Inconvenient? No discussion allowed?

That was a train wreck. You can't see the deleted posts.

When I lock one, I usually try to indicate why. Sometimes I'm rushing around and don't have time, or sometimes I think it's obvious.

Well, yes, but so are we and we all love you!

Yes, that's pretty much when the thread locking started!

    Too late!

(just kidding! I use that line on my kids, too. Then... usually have to clean jelly or soda off of me...)

The reason I locked that thread had nothing to do with the subject being Michelle Obama. I locked it because it had devolved into racial slurs and useless repetitive posts amounting to "she sooo uuugly!"

I think we've seen a spike in locked threads since our two new mods came on board.... abuse of power? hehe

[laugh] 99% of the threads I've locked so far are simply because they were dupes. Beside the MO thread, the only threads I was going to lock because they got out of hand, Derek beat me to the punch. I will always hesitate before locking a thread. I'd much rather have open discussion. But Derek's rules are Derek's rules, so don't break them. Honestly, I think he's more than fair in what he asks of us users.

I always read the mod's post at the end, especially if it's EddieCoyle. See your sig for the reason [wink].
