I joined up in 1994, and as I was going through Reception it was obvious that the briefers hadn't gotten their heads around DADT. All the forms had white-out over a bunch of phrases they weren't using anymore, like the part where you had to swear you weren't a homo.
It wasn't in the 90s. It was in the 2000s. Pretty sure it was either the 505 or the 508 after 4th BCT stood up. It wasn't 504, 325, 319, or the other units.
It was a blip of news and that was about it.
So much more perverted ship goes on at Bragg besides that.

Careful - the MA SJC has already decided you are the hook for you kids legal fees, even if of legal age, if you let them live in your house. They could extend this to other relations as well.

It was a bizarre decision - basically if your above age of majority kid lives in your house, you implicitly assume responsibility for their criminal defense costs, and all of you assets are considered available, therefore, the spawn is not eligible for a public defender. A separate contemporaneous decision also decided that all tax deferred retirement plans are counted when determining access to a public defender, however, the SJC graciously allowed that to be a post-tax valuation.
