considering that the WHO proboly couldnt get into 90% of the places they go without some kind of armed support. and surgeons! these are the same people who religious fundamentalists shoot in parking lots right?
I would have thought that these people would be very much in support of gun rights.

I saw the interview they did when the uproar happened when they got their permits. Maybe they were lying but they said they carried for personal protection. Other than that I don't know anything about their politics.Lynne said:ArmedMainer said:I thought HCI went belly up awhile ago. Steve Tyler and Joe Perry of Aerosmith can't be too anti-gun. Unless they're both ultra lefties, then it's OK for them to own a gun, but not regular folks like us. And, if they don't want to carry themselves, then they can hire body guards who carry. Just cause someone has a carry license, do not assume they're pro 2A.
A friend of mine has the book. I'll have to ask him if I can borrow it.Brettbot said:I seem to remember seeing something about how they used to be anti-gun, but now they've changed their ways. I seem to remember it was Ted Nugent saying it, too. :? Maybe it was in God, Guns, & Rock 'N' Roll?

It's a long passage, and doesn't speak to their politics, but here's some snippets:
"A perfect example of this is my friend Joe Perry of Aerosmith. Considered by many to be the number one rock'n'roll band in the world, they had their most successful year ever in 1999. Along with such mega success comes mega pressure... The two biggest stars of the outfit, right out front taking the lion's share of pressure, are lead guitarist Joe Perry and frontman Steven Tyler. You know what thrilling recreational pursuit they have discovered to destress and escape? Shooting... The so-called "Toxic Twins" have miraculously been upgraded to the "Rootin', No-More Tootin', Shootin' Ballistic Twins", and are damn proud of it... With an ever-increasing collection of firepower, including concealed weapons permits and a Class 3 license in their "Live Free Or Die" home state of New Hampshire, Steven and Joe have found true love in the marksmanship and self-defense challenge."
And then it talks about how he and Joe went hunting and fishing together. Nothing suprising, and nothing to suggest they (do or) don't just think they deserve guns 'cause they're famous as so many famous people seem to do. Who knows?
Lynne said:Thanks hun. Well, it doesn't exactly sound like they're anti's, does it? If they were, I have the feeling that Ted would say something to that effect.
Brettbot said:That's what I figured, but I wouldn't say for sure unless I heard one way or the other. Also, he only mentions Steven Tyler that once, the rest of the time he only talks about Joe Perry. Plus it's been, what, 6 or 7 years since then? Maybe things have changed since then?
Lynne said:If they've got a Class 3 license, then I HIGHLY doubt it. [lol] Somehow shooting a full auto tends to make one rather giddy and any thoughts of gun control seem to disipate. [lol]
There's a show on NESN with Charlie Moore on it. On the show about a week ago he was at the Pelham Rod and Gun club shooting Machine Guns with a member of a local but nationally known band. I had never heard of the band but the show was interesting.Lynne said:Brettbot said:That's what I figured, but I wouldn't say for sure unless I heard one way or the other.
