Well I just got back from my indoor range to try out some 231 with a tighter crimp and some loads with 5.2 gr of Bullseye. I definitely noticed a slightly cleaner burn but some cases still had a good amount of unburnt powder.
But the Bullseye loads burned much more cleaner. There was little to no unburnt powder which I did like. Kinda kicking myself for selling off some bullseye. But I'll continue using the 231 until I run out then continue with Bullseye. They shoot accurately enough so the only issue is the unburnt powder. I just tap the cases to get the powder out before bringing them home and making my tumbling media even more dirty.

The other question I have is with the OAL using the X-treme plated bullets. I have the OAL at ~1.603" with still quite a bit of the cannelure exposed. I don't want to seat any deeper as my reloading manual suggests 1.610" for 240 SWC loads so I'm already below that but the OAL for jacketed 240s is 1.600". View attachment 128370
