Ordered new antenna for my HT as the "duck" antenna is not what it should be.

Getting antenna for my truck and saving money for mobile rig.

Also repairing my Dad's Collins 75A-4 receiver.
Have vertical antenna (with coils) as need for 10- meters thru 80 meters
As I live in an apartment.

Nice job getting the Tech and General in the same sitting! That doesn't happen every day.

Welcome to the 99 hobbies of ham radio. It looks like you've got several already covered: mobile ops, boat anchor refurb, HF...

Since you are just starting out and looking for gear I suggest going to ham flea markets. Here's a list of the upcoming ones. I've only been to the Marlborough, MA one and it's pretty big. I got a 2M mobil, 20A DC supply and 2M/70cm mag mount antenna there for short money.

73 and CU on the bands.

Thanks for all the replies.
Ordered some tubes and capacitors for my Collins 75A-4.
waiting for the mobile rig and antenna to arrive.

Studying for my Extra Class.

Another are f interest for me is antennas and electronics circuits. So much to know.
