Thank you for a civil response, you didn't jump in with name calling and Ad Hominem attacks. Now, let me address your points:

• I'm a strident supporter of the 2nd amendment. The only restrictions I am at all ok with on 2A rights are 1. restricting violent felons and those who've been adjudicated mentally ill from owning firearms. And 2. I draw the line for what's ok to possess as a civilian at things that can blow up your neighborhood by you being an idiot. aka explosives, grenades, and the like. That's it.
  
• I'm not in favor of tax increases. In fact, I'd like to see taxes decrease for the middle class, working class, and the poor. As it stands I think they bear a disproportionate amount of the tax burden in this country.
  
• I'd like to see the government stop disregarding the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 7th, 8th, 9th, and especially the 10th amendment!
  
• Who said anything about being soft on criminals? Violent criminals? Lock them up and throw away the key.

I think you're mistaken about your political alignment? You're certainly not in line with your party, except maybe with some of your tax views. I'm still trying to figure out this "disproportionate" thing people keep talking about... I'm pretty sure that the rich pay the largest % of the tax income in this country already. IMO a flat rate across the board is what would be fair. Don't punish people for being successful. That is against everything the US was founded on.

Federal govt/ taxes.. should be limited to Defense, natl infrasructure and, national and interstate commerce only.

Everything else, fire, police, roads, schools should be paid for at the state or local level..

Bingo! A 20% consumption tax would be about right. While that sounds like a lot, consider that you would get rid of income tax, no filing taxes every year, no more complex deductions, and no IRS! We already have a state sales tax in most states, so the plumbing is already there. Granted, I would be paying a 20% consumption tax on goods, but if i make 100k/year, I would actually see 100k in my bank account. My costs would go up 20%, and only on consumables, but my income would go up about 40%.

Also, illegals would be paying their share of taxes as well, since consumption tax would be paid when purchasing an item, just like sales tax. Since it would be federal, people wouldn't be hopping the border to buy things in NH for example.

But... that would be unfair to the illegals! They come here because it is economically advantageous to them. Take that away and they are on the same playing field as us! Other than that, sounds like a fair starting point.

The obvious caveat there being the proliferation of black market goods under that plan.

And the tax man would see swapping squash for lawn mowing as tax evasion... You're right - that's a problem...

Absolutely. Let the municipality collect the tax, say 20% for debate, keeps 5%, sends 25% to the state and 70% to the fed. Then no other taxes levied at all, ever. Those percentages are made up for clarity, not to say those are fair or appropriate.

Dalmer would pick up boys, have sex with their corpses and eat them.

I saw his father on a tv interview once. Seemed like a nice guy. I'm guessing he didn't do a lot of gardening. (some of the victims were buried in the back yard)
