Let's see how long it takes

Hey everyone, I lurk here but don't post too much. I've finally gotten around to applying for my class A LTC. I just applied on Nov 13th, let's see how long it takes to get. BTW, I live in Westport MA and it shouldn't be any problem getting a class a. Now I still need to figure out what I want to buy for carry. The officer said it has been taking about 6 weeks lately, so that puts it right in time for Christmas!! =)

The S&W 1911 SC is pretty nice. Has all the features plus it doesn't weigh much. Other recommendations are the Glock M19 or the S&W scandium .357 mag revolver; this one not to shoot, only to carry!

I applied for my LTC on Oct 26th - and the inspector said that they are taking just about 30 days to turn around - this was in Chelmsford. So near the end of next week I am going to start anticipating a phone call - hopefully she is right. I have been thinking of a Glock 19 as my first purchase...

Bellingham must be the best town when it comes issuing LTCs. It took 3 weeks to the day for mine about 6 months ago and 4 weeks to the day for my fiancée to get hers which she recieved last week. Good luck and don't call and ask how they are making out!!

The law requires that they give you an answer in 40 days ([rofl] [rofl] [rofl] ), so, my suggestion is to wait until the 40 days is up, then, VERY nicely call and ask if anythings happening with the license.

I'm going in to start my renewal in 2 weeks I'll let you know smoothly things go
I expect little trouble Lynn has been pretty good on issuing permits especially Class A

Marlboro won't take the app longer than 4 weeks out... and it took 4 weeks and 1 day to get my renewed LTC-A for ALP.

Just a reminder folks - we've got the 90 day grace period back. It may or may not help depending on how long the state takes, but, I would suggest doing it a month before. It seems that most of my students over the past few months have only taken 4 to 5 weeks....as an FYI.

I'm not familiar with the 90 day grace period, what is this?

As long as you have applied for your renewal, and, it takes longer than the expiration date on your license, you're covered for 90 days on your license. The renewal MUST be in the process however.

Talked with someone last night who applied for his renewal in August 2006 (expiring October 2006); he just got it last week. [angry]

My permit runs out in March my appointment to renew is on the 23rd of this month so if your permit runs out in Feb now would be the time to start the renewal
