All this Ted Kennedy crap has got me to the point of projectile vomiting. So heres a thread to honor those who deserve homage and tribute not some fat, lying, cheating murdering bastard. That said here is some "nobodies" being shadowed by this occasion. Funny I don't see the flags at half mast for them....

May these man rest in true peace. Quite frankly I'm tired of seeing names like this. [sad2]

What a great idea. Rep points inbound.

I'm just tired of seeing people oggle over scumbags. First it was MJ and the death of an "icon", now fat teddy. I get choked up everytime I think of the young men and women dying because it's just plain sad.

Yet it never ceases to amaze me that so many liberal asshats get emotional over douchebags like the forementioned but look at service men and women like, "well ya you chose it so good for you". I just don't get it at all. One of the nicest kids I've met lost his life in Iraq and I just cant help but think, jesus that fat prick murdered someone and lived to be 77 but this great kid died in his 20's......why???

I'll do my best to update this often but I think maybe making this an official thread or something to remind everyone that there are people far more important to be honored would be good.

Well done and rep points already given. In this one instance, I'll forgo my usual edit.

Officially made a sticky, and those who know of someone, not already listed, may post their name here for the honor they truely deserve.

Copter Crash Kills 14 U.S. Soldiers
Published: August 22, 2007

BAGHDAD, Aug. 22 — Fourteen American soldiers died when their helicopter crashed in northern Iraq today, the military said, as Iraq’s prime minister threatened to “find friends elsewhere” if the Americans withdrew support for his administration.

Military officials said mechanical failure appeared to have brought down the Black Hawk UH-60, which crashed during an operation overnight while traveling with a second helicopter. Lt. Col. Christopher Garver, a military spokesman in Iraq, said the incident was being investigated...

The helicopter crash appeared to be the deadliest since January 2005, when a Marine helicopter, a CH-53E Super Stallion, hit the ground in a desert sandstorm near the Jordanian border, killing all 31 people aboard. In January this year, a helicopter crash caused by insurgent fire killed 12 service members.

The crash came on a day when the alliance between Iraq’s Shiite prime minister and the American government continued to fray.

Is there a website that has up to date reports? I just saw someone on facebook post "In Senator Kennedy's memory, let's pass healthcare reform. It will be his greatest legacy."

Needless to say, I had to resist from putting my fist through my screen.

God bless the true heroes out there who protect even those who are too ignorant to understand [halfmast]

I'll be getting an updated listing from the DOD pretty soon.
I am a state rep for American Soldiers Memorials. We stitch memorials for fallen service members. I am the state Rep for TX, OK, and VT.
I'm going through to find the ones from MA so I can list them here.

While The Globe has front page and the first 5 pages filled with Kennedy's death, these brave young men get page 3 in the metro section.
