Last week, Texas Republican Gov. Greg Abbott urged residents of high-tax New Jersey to move to the Lone Star State, touting his administration’s tax cut of $4 billion

Not thinking that one through.

high taxes=you probably work for a living, so how many libtards could we be talking about?

Hahahahahaha!!!!

I was reading a GREAT article in the WSJ (OP/ED) about the mass migration from high tax states like NJ/NY/RI/MA/CT/CA to low-tax states like FL, TX, etc.,

The article NEVER mentioned the politics these people bring with them. It was the first thing I read.

Maybe, in order to stem the tide of libs going to these places, the GOP'ers need to RAISE taxes to make their states unattractive. LOL

Unintended consequences. And we wonder why so many Massholios go to NH. To paraphrase the Bill Clinton 1992 campaign mantra, "it's the taxes, stupid."

Uhhhh, look at the people who PAY the taxes in these states. Clearly. . . .they have income and work. There are plenty of working liberals. PLENTY of them.

EDIT - lol - WSJ article already quoted. NFM. LOL I did like how they showed the reverse of the old "this is costing the citizens of this state X% in more taxes" is really "that state, being able to deduct these taxes for so long, were allowing other states to pay X% of their fair share of taxes." YEAHBABY!!!!! I liked the turnaround.

Many will blame the republican president for taking their entitlement away instead of blaming the blue state government for having high local and state taxes.

So how does this story end when there is a mass exodus of tax payers? Does anyone have any historical comparisons? The writing is obviously on the wall for state governments but will they just keep raising taxes on the remaining population or wise up and keep spending in line with collections?

CA. has lost it's middle class because of taxes and "progressive" values. It's now either uber rich, techies, or poor illegals, homeless, minimum wage workers for the most part. Pelosi and Gov. Moonbeam will not be able to sustain their war on America for much longer so they will soak the rich even more while giving out freebies to the unwashed masses. Eventually the Pyramid scheme will collapse and they'll be looking for a bailout.
Kimberly Guilfoyle's ex will be the next Governor and he's no better than Brown.

I prepare personal income taxes for these libtards too. Let me be the first to tell you, their position on taxes flips 180 degrees when you get them behind a closed door.
******
Of course, how many of these Ma**h***s elect to pay the higher State income tax?

It's like inviting Mao's Long March to trample over everything the state has accomplished. Idiot!

I had an old retired neighbor praise our towns high tax rate as it kept a lot of the riff raff out. It was hard to dispute this logic...

I was listening to a discussion of this subject earlier in the week, maybe on Rush. One of the potential unintended consequences of a heavy move from high tax states to low tax states could be a rise in taxes of the latter due to increased strain and wear-and-tear on their infrastructure

Wear-and-tear? Stupid ideas and confused priorities more likely! Check out any liberal proposals. Tewksbury, MA, for example, has roads like Romania used to have in 60's but moms want parks and sidewalks and water sprinkling amusement gizmo at their playground.

But but, roads don't help property value like a good old fashion sidewalk destroying someone's front yard easement! Or a water sprinkler park that was introduced via imminent domain that stole somebody's land for convenient location to the school.

The old adage about liberals spending other people's money... Eventually they wake up and find there are no more "other people" so they move on to a state that has "other people" and resume voting for spending. They are like locusts.

I hope you rape them hard, cost wise.

further proof of the "good for me, but not good for you" mentality

Ask Vermont
Vermont is starting a campaign to try to get their younger residents to remain in the state. In fact, the .Gov recently announced a program to lure younger people back (discounted tuition at state colleges). The carpet baggers have polluted it so badly that the 'born and bred' are running for the doors.

Greece comes to mind...

Yup. I work for a local DPW and for years we had equipment that came from Romania circa 1960. All someone from the school department had to say was there might not be enough money to support the French immersion program next year.

I think Vermont just recently told their younger folks what they think of them.

Yeah. But it's not "These tax rates are too high for everyone." It's actually "these tax tables are too high for ME." It's not a sense of overall taxation that is too high, just that THEY are required to pay. If they saw the WHOLE of it, they'd be screaming for cost-cutting, not complaining about THEIR taxes. Liberal asshats!

right. what really scares me is the liberal democrats bailing on California, they'll still have their core values. wait until they discover hew hampshire.

They have been for 30 years now. Hence the complaints by some NH residents here. LOL

This is how states swing. The parasites who vote for all this socialist crap ruin their host state and then can't take the crap their socialism voting caused so they move on to the next host state, rinse and repeat.

You say it like they understand what they are doing. LOL They don't. They are like bacteria or a virus. All they know is to try X even though X never worked before. Destroy the host, move on and try X at the next place. :(

You're not giving them nearly enough credit. They know exactly what they are doing. They figured out how to game the system decades ago with judges and the dept of education.

These people take the same approach to everything that they take to taxes. Its all about what WE NEED to do to get what WE NEED. [Translation: Its all about what YOU HAVE to do to get what THEY WANT.]

In High School I was in a debate where this girl was talking about how each person must make sacrifices and when I challenged her on what she would sacrifice she said "I would give away all the video games at my house." then I asked her how much she owned and she said "Well my brother has ..." at which point I stopped her and explained giving away other people's things doesn't constitute a sacrifice so her argument was something she didn't even believe in. The irony was I was the one arguing that that the government had a duty to do XYZ because people were not able to do it on their own, AKA shit I didn't really believe in.
