Leave it to a Frenchman

Do they want 100 men trying to qualify?" he asked. "If they do there won't be any spots left for them (women)."

Well maybe they should change up the rules to make them more dainty. Kinda like the differences between softball and baseball. There's got to be some way to alter a swing to make it underhand. And how about making pink the regulation color of all balls and tees? [roll]

Playing the devils advocate here for a minute....

So the guy's a Frog (no offence to anyone intended). He looks a little ...well you know....but how do I know, who's to say (again no offence).

What he seems to be getting at is -- That what's good for the goose is good for the gander. If they want to create a unisex golf tournament then they should. And that would be fine. So why let women in a traditionally mens tournament when men cant play in the womens tournaments? Kind of like letting girls joining the boyscouts and not vice versa. In no way am I a sexist. Quite the contrary I'm a pretty hip open minded person. But whats fair is fair.

Now for the kilts...I've been to Scotland and they take their kilts pretty seriously. Can't say that I ever worn one but I've seen some in a catalog that were like shorts but had the kilt look. That I'd try as I gave up wearing underwear 20 years ago. Lets 'em breathe lad! I'd get a pair but they're 90 bucks.

What Jarhead said is correct. A few years ago they let women qualify for a couple of PGA events. There's a reason there is a PGA and a LPGA. Otherwise, let 'em all compete for one league.

The reason why there are two different leagues is because physically men and women are different. In Auto Racing it doesnt make a difference, in a sport such as golf it does.

Obviously there will be freaks of nature such as Annika and Michelle Wie. Should they be able to compete against the men if they choose so? Yes, should men be allowed to compete in the womans league? No, the other 150+ women play like women and shouldn't have to compete against the men.

With the rationale that has been mentioned we should allow men in the WNBA. I know nobody watches it anyways but it would be crazy to think that. In high school we played against a girl on an opposing hockey team. Why? She was a freak of nature and scored over 100 goals in the girls league and needed stiffer competition. Should I or my teammates be allowed to play in the girls league? That would be unfair to the other girls who play like girls.

You will always have women now and then that can compete against men in sports where strength is a factor. Lets be realistic here, if men were allowed to compete in the LPGA there wouldn't be an LPGA.

I agree. And I'm a woman. I don't take offense to it. It's a physical fact. Men are physiologically geared to have more upper body strength, which is a factor in a golf swing. They have a height advantage which is a factor in basketball. There are just areas where women are inferior.

And I have no problem admitting that because there are areas where men are inferior. Men and women are different. Which as a heterosexual, I am very happy about [wink]

Yup....what she said.

Sorry, I still say no more one-way streets.

The ONLY time a women should be allowed in a men's league is if there is no equivelant womens league.

Isn't that what you're saying? You probably support that lady that protests the Master's because Augusta is an all-male club, right?
