Any recommendations from team NES? Off the shelf leather shoulder rig for 5" 1911, Delta Elite 10mm if it matters. I'll say thanks in advance, headed overseas for work...

You don't have a location listed. I have a Galco, which is a Jackass decendent, I bought in the late 80's what has served me very well. If I were to get a new one today I would give Mitch Rosen a visit in NH.

This thread is on shoulder holsters. There are many more. If you like 1911's some of us here are on this site: https://forums.1911forum.com/showthread.php?t=500161.

Good luck and post up what you get for that great piece.

Hands down my recommendation would be the Galco Jackass. I have one of the original models (before Galco bought them) for another gun and it was the most comfortable shoulder holster I ever tried on. And I owned 3 other shoulder holsters for much lighter guns that were terrible (cut into my armpit, etc.). Sometimes you get what you pay for.

ETA: Same rig, better pricing.

I found the Galco Miami Classic in my choice of colors at the Cabelas in Berlin. I spent hours "boning" it to make it totally customized for my square slide profile Sig TTT.

The jackass rig looks like an improved version (?)

I have one of these Last Man Standing rigs in a double

Thanks guys. Looks like I'll probably go for the Galco jackass holster. I'm looking for something off the shelf and not too pricey. I have a really nice custom IWB/OWB from R Grizzle and really like it.

Quick question on concealability for the jackass/shoulder holster styles. Exactly how concealable are they on a day to day basis? If you wear a sport coat, how big of an EDC can you hide? I know it depends on your frame. Would a sig 229 or G19 be in the "very" category? I'm not looking to hide a DEagle.

I expect that unless you had a very tight suit jacket or weighed 70# ringing wet, I doubt that the G19 would print. Not as familiar with the Sig 229 wrt size but can tell you that the Jackass was probably the best shoulder holster design out there.

Works great with soft shell zippered jackets, etc. Brooks Brothers toting suit nazis need not apply.
Thats how I conceal mine. Either that or a micro fleece vest. I have it with holsters for my S&W 500 snubby and my Alaskans in 454 Casull & 44 mag. I usually only carry these in the woods or kayak fishing.
I also have the Galco Miami Classic II for all my Glocks.

I have never had an issue with printing carrying a 1911 in mine, even a light jacket seems to cover it well.

I made this when Duval wanted us to only have 7 round mags, so I figured might as well have twice the guns with 7 rounds. Very comfortable to wear.
