Um... when did the IDF start using M16s? When I was there as a kid, all I saw were Uzis on the soldiers.

Last time I was there was in '95. I rarely saw any Uzi's then, mostly M16's and a few Galil's.

Y'know, looking at this thread reminded me of something that happened to me when I visited Israel in '74 or 5:

I remember seeing this REALLY nice looking girl in a short skirt on the street in Tel Aviv... She had absolutely gorgeous legs. What really blew my mind was when she turned around and I realized that 1) she was carrying an Uzi and 2) that that short skirt was her UNIFORM.

Kind of a real surprise for a 15 year old. I mean, she couldn't have been over 18 or 19...
