Life finds me wearing a suit more often than I want to lately. I’m looking for ideas and opinions on what knives work well in a suit and how guys carry them. I’m open to thoughts and look forward to hear different experiences.

I’ve been meaning to post this thread for awhile and will admit I’m pretty saddened to not have Enbloc PM his input 😥

What type of knife and for what reason? Lots of good stuff out there.
No need not to carry while dressed appropriately. Good luck.
Gentleman's knife, or more self-defense or utilitarian folding knife?

Horizontal/angled sheath for a folder or fixed blade.

Mostly as a defensive tool. I’ve found that suit pants aren’t tolerant of the wait of a full-size folder. I have a Buck 110 slim that I have appendix carried with the clip on the back side of the belt. Somewhat visible.

The CRKT CEO was made to fit into shirt pocket or a suits pen pocket. I don’t have them in stock but I can get them pretty quickly.

Also look at these, all of which I have in stock and can get em to in a few… very lightweight and carry comfortably. NES’rs get a 10%-13% discount depending on the product.

I have one of these, neat knife and I want to love it, but it is not very comfortable in my hand. The corners of the butt and jabs me in the meat of my palm and if I were doing anything with it other then opening a letter, I think I would want something else.

I really want a Case Trapperlock Kickstart for when I am classing it up and don't want to carry a fixed blade.

I bought one of these but it ended up being a little smaller than I was looking for. Sold it on here and got the bigger model. That would work fine in a suit (size and weight), but price is in striking distance of Chris Reeve.

+1 @Enzo for the CR small Sebenza (pictured with bog Oak inlay)

Honorable mention for a ZT 0450CF carbon fiber. Very light weight. I carry either on the inside pocket of the suit jacket… makes me feel like James Bond a bit

I also love my ZT 0770CF. A little more compact than the 0450. Nice deep carry pocket clip (reversible), which is helpful when you want to left pocket carry because there is a gun in your right pocket.

Benchmade 535GRY-1 Bugout
simple, basic, and weighs next to nothing, clipped onto my front pants pocket and it's invisible.
and after 2 years it's still holding that razor edge

Another Vote for the ZT 0450CF carbon fiber. My daily carry knife for the past year plus

I picked up a Boker Compact Kwaiken for those few times a year I need to dress nicely. D2, titanium, carbon fiber, deep carry clip.

OP since you mentioned suit carry + self defense either of these (or some other similar style) would work well I think. Smaller is better in a suit and smaller is better around the office to keep the sheep from panicking and having you swatted at your desk if you open a letter or package with it.

Small, light, classy looking and sharp AF.

A knife that goes well with a suit is a sharp knife lol, but seriously I always found William Henry's to be the nicest for that task.
There is simple one's to very fancy with gold and diamonds.

After years of carrying tactical knives, I began to focus on gentlemen's knives that I could and do wear with a suit, daily. I have found that the more it resembles a "BBQ Knife" the easier it is to pull out in genteel company. In fact, I regularly peel fruit or cut things in professional situations that would never be acceptable with a black tactical knife - best disguise ever.

That said, I have always gravitated towards classic Al Mar for this application...until they sold (now they are crappy low-end knock offs). I was in despair until I learned that the best Al Mar Gentlemen's knives were make by Moki (Japan) and are still available. The left two are classic Al Mar's 20-30 years old. The two on the right are newish Moki's. They are all light, scary-sharp, classy and will not upset anyone.
