I'll start with the good.......they had aguila 22lr......a lot of it. Then the bad.......$69.99 for a 500 round box. I left it right on the shelf.

On another note I looked over at the old ammo shelf and found a box of 30-06 in a sears and roebucks brand box! 15 rounds in the original 20 round pack.......price was right at $9. I got it more for the "cool" factor........don't ever plan to even see if the ammo shoots. The original price was on the box at $4.49.

I haven't seen good ammo prices there for the last couple of years except on that same old ammo shelf. I've had 50/50 luck with digging through the used magazine rack/holster table. If you know your desired mags by sight you can do OK (as few to none are labeled) Even reloading stuff which used to be a great area has mediocre pricing.

I like perusing the used long guns and shotties, I've pulled a few decent deals from there.
Don't try to buy an EBR from them if MA resident, they don't care if it's preban or MA compliant.
Still fun to go and fondle toys though, selection of other stuff is good but prices are +/- other places.

I stop there when going through just due to the size and selection of general hunting/shooting supplies. I never expect great prices and have yet to be surprised in a good way about prices.

Wow - considering what I have left over from my last CMP order, I'm rich!

I was there Monday and they had the same stuff - I let it sit there also - they were also selling 1400 round buckets of Remington Golden Bullet for $80.00 - I let that sit there also

Kittery used to be my go to place years ago.
Last time I was up there I went out empty handed and shaking my head.
It's a shame.

Been awhile but last I was there the bow section was great. More than one guy Mathews certified.

been several times, don't understand the raging hard-on everyone has for the place. nothing there you can't find in NH... without sales tax at that, too.

even some MA places sometimes have KTP beat, but i suppose if you're going to be in the area, you might as well check it out.

If I am too impatient to wait on Internet/UPS Guy then it's not a bad place for a piece of reloading hardware , or a place to peruse something I intend to buy from the WWWeb.

As a kid I thought it was " gun world " , as an adult I realized its a shotgun era store for the most part.

Bullets and Powder for reloading- That's about it!

I wasn't saying they place is all bad......yes reloading equipment looks reasonable and I've been eyeballing it up there for awhile......used is a good thing and when I decide to start reloading I'll probably buy it there. I just thought the price on 22lr was way too high. And before people start flaming me I'm not accusing them of "gouging". I'm a free market guy......but as long as people keep buying it at that price it'll never go down......therefore I left it on the shelf.

The box of 30-06 Sears brand was an impulse purchase and for 9 bucks I wanted it more for the box.

At least KTP stores will sell you ammo; can't add to cart on the KTP website

Shame to see KTP marking up their ammo like that, they were always my go-to source for CCI back before availability took a dive.

The good - For NH residents, you can purchase a firearm and avoid sales tax. They have a small shop set up across the border were they transport your purchase to complete the transaction.

The bad - Wayyy to much traffic at the gun counter. Lots of tourists fingering all the guns they can't own back home. It can be a real PITA if you're there to make a purchase.

You should check out Shooters Outpost and Riley's in Hooksett NH... both those places sell reloading equipment and supplies (new and sometimes used at Riley's) ) and no Maine tax (and save gas /$$$ on the drive there?)

I like checking out the lever action guns at ktp and my daughter loves the old fashioned swedish fish that they have.

That's actually not a bad price in todays market.
It works out to under $30 a brick, or 5.7 cents a round.

The selection is the big benefit at KTP as far as I'm concerned. Want a Win 94? KTP will have about two dozen to choose from.

I like to bring my son through every aisle of used long guns......now he tells me all about them!

The shelf was there, that is a display. They keep the inventory in the back. All of the bottles said out of stock on them. I thought I had hit the jackpot for a minute!
My bad......shows how much I know about reloading

That is awesome. I used to love walking through there as a kid.

It is confusing, when you see your jug of powder and say, I want that one, and point, and they say no.

This summer they had a whole rack of M&P sports that were specifically marked as Mass compliant. I didn't try to buy one, but I don't see why they wouldn't sell one to a licensed Mass resident.

I was up there recently looking for a used shotgun and didn't find anything. I did leave with a bunch of 9mm because I am from MA and where I live I still have trouble fining it. So I bought a few 100 round whiteboxes.

don't go dissing the almighty church of KTP, dude! they have more selection of guns, most of which handguns we can only fantasize about, and lots of other cool stuff. I bought a few rifles from them at great prices and tax free, picking them up at their little office in NH. they have outrageous Aguila ammo, which I mentioned in another thread, and I didn't buy any, but I'm sure they're getting the shaft too. several honest and decent employees agreed readily with me to avoid that ammo, unless desperate, which I'm not yet. I'm a fan, but nobody's perfect!

and, Bob's seafood, fried food porn, is right next door

I wasn't dissing them really.......one of my other posts in this thread brags about there used gun rack and reloading equipment. And that "old" ammo she'll where I found the sears brand 30-06 is cool. Just sucks to see 22lr at that price! I'm actually a fan of KTP

I wasn't aware of the no sales tax on firearms to NH residents or their little shop of pleasures they have over the border to pick up your toys. I may need to take another trip over there.
