It is also why Obama didn't allow the Koreans to ship back the M1 Carbines we lent to them. Feinstein in her bill wanted to ban the M1 carbine... likes like Obama wants to do the same.

Eliminate restrictions that force the ATF to authorize importation of dangerous weapons simply because of their age:

But today, firearms manufactured more than 50 years ago include large numbers of semiautomatic military-surplus rifles, some of which are easily convertible into machine guns or otherwise appealing for use in crime.

Congress should get rid of restrictions that prevent ATF from changing this definition, enabling ATF to ensure that firearms imported as curios or relics are actually of interest as collectibles, rather than letting these rules be used as a way to acquire fully functional and powerful military weapons.

So other e that the M1 Carbine, what other types of "old" firearms are we talking about?
M1 rifle maybe? This proposal says nothing about the weapon having to be semi-automatic only!
A Mosin could fall into this!
Ya lets "trust" the ATF and let call the shots as what the definition is!

They are really a trust worthy bunch...as is their leader! [rules] [flame]
