How can one obtain a kimber solo in massachusetts? I'm guessing it would have to be used? Really would like one of these for pocket carry this summer.

I know a guy but you gotta close your eyes and sick it out of a long hose...
All honesty read the reviews for what they'd go for with masstard prices you don't want one the last one up the guy was asking like 900 and the reviews said they are finicky for 900 bucks my pocket pistol better stroke me too

You would have to find one owned privately or find a dealer willing to sell you one (good luck).

I've not held or shot these pistols but I do know that there are more highly regarded small pistols on the market that are readily available in Mass made by Sig, Ruger and S&W.

Hopefully someone who has one can respond with their first hand experience.

Go to kimber's site. The MSRP ranges from $815-945 depending on what solo model you're looking at. $900 is far from MA pricing, hell it's practically a gift.

No lol there was one in the private section here or on armslist recently I didn't want to over state the price i forget but I saw it and it made me look into the guns and from what I read is they suck. Just telling you to do your homework but I've seen one or two if you want one idc not my money do whatever makes you happy. But I'd go with a 938 or a pm9 of your set on a gun that sized. To each their own but you'll find one that'll come up sooner or later just make sure you search hard

Then again when your searching you never find your precious.... anyone have a colt combat delta.... anyone... just keep your eyes open and wait it out not much you can do unless you move

It's junk so you're not missing anything. You're better off looking for a non MA PM9, or other choices.

Thanks for the replies. Wasn't looking for any secrets.i too have heard that they can be finicky. I've also read that they run real good after a few hundred rounds with good ammo.As far as the low post count, Ive been a member here since 2011 but I tend to just read alot instead of talking.
PM9 looks nice as well, just like the feel of the solo. I had my hands on one up in Maine and it felt good.
thanks again

You're what we call a "lurker". Nothing wrong with that but if you start to become more active, go green, show up to NES events and shoots, meet people and you'll make some good friends. I would say I hang out with friends I've made here since joining in 2008 about as much as I hang with friends I've known since middle school and before.

When I first saw the Solo I thought it would make an excellent summer carry gun IWB on the hip. Then I started seeing reviews and said "Nah I'm all set." I agree with Mike; find a nice used Kahr and you'll be happier in the long run.

Funny saying "The plural of anecdote is data". One of the guys from my club is a true gun-slut. He's got a lot of guns, but buys, sells and trades them regularly. I can pretty much guarantee that every time I see him he'll have something new to show me, seriously. He takes good care of his guns, a couple of mine came from him. He's a good shot with rifles, pistols and really good with revolvers. One of the guns that he hasn't gotten rid of, that he carries almost daily is a Kimber Solo...

With 2 posts, you will never find out how. You might find a used Colt defender first.

I've got a Colt Defender in 9mm. Nice gun, but I wouldn't recommend it for pocket carry, it's just too heavy. IWB at 4:00 works pretty well. If you can stomach a .380, a Colt Mustang's an option too, (or a Sig P238).

I was interested in a Solo a year ago. I couldn't find one. The reviews weren't so good. I got a Sig 938. It is as accurate as a small 9mm can be. I've fed it everything I could and it's never malfunctioned. Everyone that tries it likes it. I suspect my 938 has sold a half dozen more to other people. The Sig night sights are top notch as well. I'm using a $30.00 Tague IWB holster and when in use, I forget it's there. Being a long time 1911 fan, the Sig 938 was easy to transition into.
For absolute pocket carry, I've found that the Glock 42 works great for me. Being a fan of 9mm over, 380, I did some research and found that Buffalo Bore makes a .380 JHP that states it's velocity at 1275 fps. Same velocity as the Winchester Ranger 9mm+p+. I believe that most here will agree that it's a very warm velocity. The Buffalo Bore .380 is lighter in weight than the Winchester Ranger 9mm +p+, but I believe that expansion and penetration should be about the same due to the stated, matching, velocities. I don't know how to get the .380 any closer to being a 9mm than this.

M60,

That's some very interesting data for sure.

Allen-1, I've read quite a few accounts of people loving the solo.

As with most things in Internet forums, there are more people that complain about a product than sing its praise. I will look into the Kahr and Sig a little more.

Thanks again
