Kay Jewelers bans uniformed police with gunz

P. S. If I was in that guy's situation in a No Binding Signage jurisdiction,
I'd tell the manager, "I'm of course leaving immediately to preclude criminal trespass,
but if I leave without my merchandise, I'm calling the credit card company to cancel the transaction;
your move".

Which is basically what others have said,
but removes the ambiguity.

The past two Big Ticket Christmas shopping trips, I've told the jewelry store,
"don't bother putting it in a big brand-name shopping bag -
I'm stuffing the package in my jacket so I don't get mugged in the parking lot".

You think maybe right about now the (ex-)manager
is wishing he STFU about "company policy"
and just gave the guy the ring he'd bought?

I'm sure he was all proud of himself for being so hip and edgy, for a short time anyway.

the sad thing is Kay and most of the rest of the retail jewelers are owned by the same company.... more reason to shop a trusted local jeweler

Signet Jewelers Limited is the world's largest retailer of diamond jewelry. Signet operates over 3,500 stores primarily under the name brands of Kay Jewelers, Zales, Jared The Galleria Of Jewelry, H.Samuel, Ernest Jones, Peoples, Piercing Pagoda, and JamesAllen.com.

Talk about controlled opposition!
