Karl Rove "repeal the 2nd amendment"

He is a genius, ban guns like we ban drugs and all our problems will be solved. Fucxing idiot.

I think one of the biggest mistakes people make is to assume that people with power and influence are idiots. Karl Rove is not an idiot, he just doesn't care about you or me. He's a neo-con who supports corporate state socialism and he's part of the machine that is working towards that end. Never underestimate the enemy.

I've been done with that guy a loooong time ago, but what sealed the deal for was how badly he wanted us to vote for McCain.

Jason.

I never underestimate the competition, he is still an idiot.

He is absolutely right.

If we repealed the 2nd amendment and rounded up all the guns, this disturbed racist guy couldn't have shot those nine people in South Carolina.

He would have sat there for an hour before slitting their throats or hitting each one in the forehead with a hammer... but there would be no gun violence. There would still be nine dead people.

What seems to be missing is the understanding that the motivation and drive to commit such a crime exist long before the tool is selected. Take away one tool and another would be selected instead.

If we wish to do away with violence, we need to work on the motivation part. If we make it so that no one is motivated to commit violence, then we could hang public use knives and guns at every street corner and it wouldn't matter.

Identifying the underlying causes of violence is hard. Passing another law is easy.

Timothy McVeigh killed more people with a rented truck and off the shelf products, laws mean nothing to some.

I don't know what Rove is talking about. Repealing the 2nd amendment would cause an immediate and dramatic increase in gun violence.

I really hope enough backlash comes from the pro-2A crowd ASAP so he can backtrack just as quickly and apologize even though he's already told us who he really is.

He just knows when things go bad he won't be safe from the masses. Like many others pushing hard to ban the 2a.

Of course, hence...

Crucifixion is something the Romans got right. Unfortunately they did it to the wrong people (mainly - once again - cuz the politicians were in charge of it, instead of being at the pointy end, where they belonged).

Rove is not on the list of Jeb Bush advisors

He does not need to be an advisor to be influential within the party. His goals are for big GOV repubs like Bush. He uses his influence behind the scenes working to make sure someone such as Bush get the nomination. He would loose a lot of power and influence if a Paul or a Cruz were POTUS. The party itself is controlled by people like Rove. Everything in Washington is a power and influence game.

Would work as well as the Eighteeth Amendment....
Which led to a growth in government to fight crime that has never been reversed, state controls on alcohol distribution that remain to the present, and the framework for the current war on drugs. Worked pretty well for their purposes I'd say
