Since apparently exchanging sexual favors for a better job or a leg up (so to speak) in politics was OK. Something she was well acquainted with. This also will be OK. At least it will be out in the open and an exact price associated with it.

It's yet another example of government creating crime. Like Moose and Rocko beating up people for loan sharks. They'd be out of a job if the government made high interest loans legal.

    makes perfect sense.
Kamala would then have a profession to fall back on, if all this politician stuff does not work out.

Can we stop calling them sex-workers????

Could you imagine being at a party and someone says, "So what do you do?"

"Oh, I'm an office worker." "I'm a cubical-farm sitter." "I'm a garage worker." Even "construction workers" don't call themselves construction workers.

SW is so sterilized. If Prostitute or Whore or whatever is too derogatory, how about Escort?

    Sex workers. Ugh.

Commerce clause? It's used for everything else, it might actually have an application here since it's legal in parts of Nevada.

The hypocrisy is that she made her living busting regular sex workers because of "human trafficking".

Just like "no one should be arrested for pot" Joe Biden was the prime author and biggest advocate of the Drug War.

Weed and prostitution are the 2 big money and power grabs for the Gov. Who cares if some guy pays a meth head $20 for a bj? The damn do-gooders need to shut up for a few years.

But everyone else calls "construction workers" by that name, mostly because they are. It doesn't matter what kind of speciality they have: carpenter, electrician, roofer, painter... they're working in construction.

Sex workers are rarely so specialized.

That was verbatim, what I was going to post.

    Here's a question for you.

Suppose a prosecutor fundamentally disagrees with the illegality of prostitution. What can the prosecutor do to not put people behind bars for it?

    1) Don't prosecute prostitution, which might not always be possible or desirable
    2) Publicly advocate for changing the laws, which requires either a public platform (not available for the average prosecutor) or a legislative hearing
    3) Divert prostitution cases through a diversion program, which conservatives could go ballistic over:

15 Laws that Suffolk County DA will no longer prosecute...

Going to disagree on that one.

First there's male versus female prostitutes. Each has different clients, different MOs, different reasons for being prostitutes. There's probably statistically nil risk of human trafficking with adult male prostitutes. Underage is probably a different ball game.

Then you have voluntary prostitution versus coerced prostitution. Is someone trying to pick up extra cash because money's tight, trying to fuel a drug addiction, doing it for fun (yes, those people exist), or is someone being forced to prostitute?

Then there's escorts versus street prostitution versus online versus phone. A high-end NYC or Boston escort for rich old dudes is committing the same crime as a $40 gay kid in Central Falls per individual paid sex act, yet rake in vastly different sums of money. A "common night-walker", to quote ye olde legislation, is servicing a different clientele than an online webcam model. What about call girls and phone sex services? That's still paid sex work but is 100% legal, assuming both parties are consenting adults.

What about live entertainers? They're technically not prostitutes (although many dabble in it on the side or exchange sex for "gifts" from "generous" clients) but they're sex workers.

Sure, sex workers don't have the level of formal training that carpenters, welders, ironfitters, etc. have nor are there severe societal consequences if a prostitute messes up a blowjob versus a welder messing up a weld, but they are specialized and there's really no such thing as a generic "sex worker" beyond the stereotypical "night walker."

Get me a drone, a sex bot, a pack of Newports, a ball of twine, hot sauce, and a rubber chicken and I'm straight.

Throw in a few shots of Jager and we'll call it a night.

    Not necessarily in that order.

Wake me up when she says it should be legal going down the highway at 120 miles an hour with a mini gun strapped on the hood, while having a joint in the mouth and a sex worker performing professional act on you.
