I hope he enjoyed his time in Congress, as he will get ZERO national support in the way of campaign funding, the R's will surely put up a candidate against him and fund the living beejeezus out of their campaign, and the Dem's are going to step in and run someone against him hoping the R's will split the vote between the former Republican and the Party candidate in the General Election

Sounds like he was a RINO anyhow. Gotta respect him for being honest enough to actually publicly announce it, though.

You think we can convince him to take Romney, Graham and a couple other entrenched shit bag career progressives from the GOP with him?

good. Now he can be replaced with an actual republican.

Will be funny when he shows up at the democrat party primary, expecting them to welcome him with open arms, and they kick him out of the building

    He is an actual Republican.

The fact that the big government faction of the GOP thinks otherwise, and thinks that Amash is some kind of quasi-Democrat, shows exactly how correct he is about the two-party poison.

Amash is farther away from the Democrats, than from what you call an "actual republican". Massie is the only member of Congress who even comes close to being as "republican", if we're defining that on the grounds of small government, low spending, and solid support for individual rights.

So who's your example of an actual Republican?

    McCain? Graham? McConnell?

Nixon, or Goldwater? Rockefeller, or Thurmond?

I believed in him back in the day. It's sad what he's turned into.

    edit:

The Trump tweet is brutal [rofl][rofl]

"Great news for the Republican Party as one of the dumbest & most disloyal men in Congress is “quitting” the Party. No Collusion, No Obstruction! Knew he couldn’t get the nomination to run again in the Great State of Michigan. Already being challenged for his seat. A total loser!"

His family owns Tekton Tools and Trump put tarriffs on China, so his TDS triggered and he has decided to go down in a ball of flames.

i do not expect every GOP member to be lockstep with their minds and actions.

I DO EXPECT a GOP member to NOT be asking for impeachment of a sitting GOP president. That is a traitorous action. The GOP will be FAR better waiting to the next election and simply replacing this douche bag.

"Amash acknowledged that his “brothers do own a trading company that does business in China.” However, he stated, “I don’t own it.”
So, he's dancing around the answer. "Well, only 10% is made in China, so it doesn't hurt the family business". This article is based on what the little maggot says. It must be true.

That article doesn't refute a thing I said. Odd timing his TDS flared up after the tariffs. He's getting destroyed in his primary and choosing the scorched earth exit to the GOP.

If he announced his departure, then attacked Trump, this wouldn't look so bad. Rand Paul and Thomas Massie are the only liberty candidates left now. TDS took down a good one, it's a powerful disease.

I'm just hoping that when Amash runs as am independent that he doesn't syphon votes away from the legitimate Republican candidate.

He only ran as an R because it was the only way he could get elected. His constituents have already told him in no uncertain terms that they would not be voting for him in the next election. For as long as it lasts, he can now write a book and get paid by CNN and MSNBC for hate filled opinions of Trump.

Sad day for our country when men like him stand up and call bullshit on their party and leave it and fail to get re-elected.

Amash is a true patriot in my mind. I disagree with some of what he stands for, bot over all, I like him. He actually explains why he votes the way he votes. He puts it on FB and Twitter for all to see. He sticks to his principles and votes his conscience instead of the party line.

We need more politicians like him.

Hope he can get re-elected as an I or L.

If by RINO, you mean Libertarian...than yeah. Was Ron Paul a RINO? Face it, the only way Ls make it is to adopt the R behind their name...but the R-tard party has moved further and further way from the libertarian ideal, politicians like Ron Paul, Garry Johns and Justin Amash have not choice but to jump from the sinking ship.
