Just got everything transfered over and scheduling a class for my ltc..I have a few things that are now not legal in MA but were legal in RI when i bought them...ie mags and firearms that I bought in RI that were legal at the time. I just don't want to join a club in MA now and catch hell if I show up to a range with one of these things. Thanks all!

I would instantly put those things you don't want to get hell for in the classifieds here. I'm sure someone will be willing to help you out and relieve you of those offensive items. That's what we do here, help people.

There's no way you're showing up on NES and, with your third post, confessing to a felony... no way. Right, Maura?

Shut up, delete your post, beg the admins to delete the whole thread, and pretend you're a free man with legal possessions. Because the constitution says you're fine having them. If you're worried about people ratting you out, you've moved to the wrong state.

Enjoy!

What do you mean mags? You do realize that RI has a 10 round mag limit, just like MA, don't you? I realize that that law is a fairly recent one in RI, and that you may have standard capacity mags you purchased before it took effect, but if you didn't convert them to 10 rounds, then they were just as illegal in RI as they are in MA.

For the record, you officially moved to MA on or before 8/1, correct?

Assuming you are not trolling us- my observation has been that folks show up with all kinds of guns at the range and beyond the “wow- this is cool I have never seen one of these in the wild”- nobody inquires about the legality of this or that.

YMMV of course

Wish I could say the same, but on separate occasions I’ve heard….Isn’t that illegal?(in regards to an pre 94 AR w/adjustable stock), don’t you need an NFA stamp for that? (14.5” barrel with a permanently attached comp that brings it well over the minimum) and how old are those magazines?(in regards to obviously legal Preban banana lip butter creek 10/22 mags).

And all my stuff is 100% legal under any reading of the law. I don’t know how the conversations would have gone if they weren’t.

If you join a club where people comment on the legality of your guns, tell them to f*ck off and find a better club.

The most important thing to keep in mind is that we drive a little faster than 55 mph on the highways here.

except in Pawtucket.. those f***ing RIers are insane driving thru the S-curves on 95.

and stay the f*** out of the left lane if you're not passing and there's nobody in front of you.. I see more f***ing RIers camped in the left lane on 95 at all hours of the day just tooling along at 70ish with any number of cars behind them, and nobody in front of them.

Not to put too fine a point on it, but your range sucks.

The rules at my range are pretty simple. Pistols only on the pistol ranges, rifles only on the rifle ranges, all shots stay within the berms, no handling of firearms during a called "cold range", no shooting after/while imbibing alcoholic beverages. I think that's the gist of them.

If you're attending a match or event - additional rules will be in effect.

Yes those are the same rules at mine too. FWIW, all of the interactions I mentioned were with people who I wouldn’t consider regulars there.

All the places I've ever been no one has ever checked mag capacity or guns. All they ask is what caliber I'm shooting.

Shhhh....the clubs don't like these laws either. Most of them shoot too :)

Relax, it's not Maura. It's "Chris from NES".
