Just installed new rear sight in my Sig!!! Yippie!

My 228 that was shooting way high (and Sig after having it a month told me it was fine- BS!) now has a new rear sight! It wasn't much of a problem installing it... but I was real careful to get it on just right. Let's see if I picked the correct sight (went from #8 to a #5 which SHOULD be what it needed). I can't wait to go to the range and check it out!!! Shooting several inches high at 50 feet was annoying the crap out of me!!! Made me look real bad at the range.

Why did you replace the rear and not the front? Was the new rear sight taller or shorter than the stock one?

Sig and others recommend replacing the rear for adjustments. I suspect it's because the front sights are much trickier to install. The new rear sight is shorter- don't worry, I didn't do it backwards.

Just making sure... LOL If you got a taller one you would be shooting even higher... Let us know how you make out at the range.

Well after a new sight pusher and some sights from CDNN I got the Sig shooting correctly! I have absolutely no idea how the hell Sig CS couldn't find this problem and fix it!! A #8 rear sight to a #5 is a significant change!!! My other Sigs were perfect out of the box so I'm surprised that this one was so off!!

Anyway it's back to normal (well bench tested) now.. the windage took a little time to get right but the elevation is dead on!

Since you got it working right it's time to trade it in and buy a 1911 with adj. sights. HAHA J/K Well kinda... LOL

That's just mean. I'm an addict and you are just tempting me. A S&W 1911 is in my future for sure.
