Is anyone here actually surprised at the verdict? In moonbat states, there's no such thing as rule of law, just verdicts and decisions based upon muh feels and victimhood optics. Let's see: middle class white woman victim, homeless illegal immigrant Latino perp. Who did you think the jury was going to side with? Victim wasn't high enough on the SJW oppression ladder. Hell, I'm surprised they didn't try to blame her for getting in the way of his boo-lets.
Consider this case out of NYC:

Tldr: homeless Black refugee pushes older Asian man in front of oncoming subway, then casually puts his headphones on, picks up his coffee, and walks away. He claimed self defense despite eyewitnesses all saying he instigated an altercation with the victim. They also tried to blame the victim saying that he was drunk, and that he should've tried to climb back onto the platform. Found NOT guilty of murder. The article describes how one of the jurors, a moonbat white woman college professor, hugged and cried with the defendant after court let out.
As long as you're of the favored skin color and socioeconomic status of the left you're untouchable.
