Judge halts immigration arrests at Massachusetts courts

So, what about the safety of community at large and ICE agents? Seems short of ICE getting arrest warrants, the only way ICE is going to pick the criminally charged illegal aliens up is by doing it in the open (leaving the court house) or raids on homes.

This makes zero sense to me. How illegal immigration is considered a "civil" offense? But for us legal citizens trespassing is a criminal offense. Coming onto someones land uninvited is trespassing plain and simple

I don't understand why they don't simply go to a judge and get an arrest warrant. Entering the United States without inspection is a crime. If they get a warrant, Massachusetts WILL honor it. The problem is that ICE "detainers" are not signed by a judge or magistrate. They're signed by an ICE agent. That's like the police issuing their own warrants.
Immigration doesn't need a warrant to arrest, the person being arrested just needs to meet the criteria: [USC10] 8 USC 1357: Powers of immigration officers and employees
