For the folks that carry while out jogging or exercising, these products might be of interest.

http://www.amphipod.com/

People seem to have positive reviews of the equipment.

I did some research and most folks say the "Rapid Access" pouch is great for an LCP/Bodyguard, but you need the the "large" size to fit the gun properly.

Enjoy.

I jog with "athletic shorts" I guess you would call them, with the elastic drawstring waistband. Didn't work too well with IWB and with pocket carry it bounced around when running.

I figured an external rig that was for runners would fit the bill and no scream gun like some of the other external options out there.

What are you wearing when you jog?

I'd rather be killed than wear a fanny pack but get a nice kydex Alienware for a g42 I rock climb and my.piece hasn't fallen out

never thought of trying to run while carrying just due to having the extra weight flopping around...i sometimes run a with a camelback and i don't like that much either but it's a place to put my keys cause i don't like them flopping around in a pocket either...so the pouch goes on a strap/belt (basically a fanny pack)...running in mesh shorts with a belt or strap plus a pouch with the weight of a small gun in it which is not in belt loops to hold in place doesn't sound too stable...would need running shorts with belt loops to even consider this

I carry IWB in basketball shorts all the time, no belt here. Tie them tight enough and the draw is easy and the holster isn't going anywhere. For reference its normally a G19, lately it's been a G17 w/APL

^^^i don't think i could pull that off with my g19 and still be comfortable doing anything athletic...i need to buy something smaller for summer soon...looking at the pm9, g43, lc9s & shield...hard to choose between smaller size vs the extra round

In the warm months, shorts that end above my knees, and a t-shirt. I wear the same belt I wear every day. Once I did wear those drawstring jogging shorts, and I put the LCP in my GPS case which fits it perfectly, and jogged like that just carrying it in my hand. I didn't like that though. Too slow to get the gun into action if need be, and I'd rather have both hands free while walking/ jogging.

I think the intention of something like this....

....is to not have to have belt loops? It sits around your waist.

That's my take at least.

For $30 or so, I will give it a shot and see how it goes. Its cheaper than my pile of holsters!!!

that looks like it would work a lot better than what i had in my head...almost like the material that the ipod arm bands are made of...let us know how you like it

Take my chances when running. Shit, something goes down, I'll turn 90deg and be in the forest in a couple of steps. Last thing I'm worried about is this OP.

I jog in the woods. Last week I came across a Fisher, and this past winter I came across wolf tracks. So I always carry when I run.

I use a belly band with Kahr PM9, but the waist pack from OP’s link looks interesting. I’m not a fanny pack kinda guy, so I’d keep a shirt over it.

Ordered it today, when it all comes in and I check it out I will post a review.

Are we talking a tactical fanny pack?

Hill People Gear Kit Bags. Check them out. They work great.

^^^ This.

I have the Hill People Gear Original Kit Bag.

The do have a Runners Kit Bag, which is the same size as the original, just a slimmer profile.

Sheesh...I can't imaging carry while running...I just got back from a run today...DRIPPING wet from sweat when done... Maybe because I'm just in 'suburbia' I figure I'll just out run the bad guys.... [wink] ...the reset of the time I'll carry! [smile]

Well, the Amphipod stuff came in. I liked the belt, but the rapid access pouch was really not designed for a firearm. I knew that going in, but some folks said it was workable.

The way it sits in the pouch keeps it canted, but its still rather difficult to draw from, especially since you have to un-velcro the top then get your fingers in there.

Looked better in my head than in reality!

That being said, I might look for some other options that fit on to the same belt. If I cannot come up with anything good, I might give the Pistolwear PT2 holster a try.

no idea how anyone wouldn't go nuts carrying while running. Going for a walk, sure no problem. Ticking away a solid run at a good pace, I would go nuts. I don't even like the feeling of tucking my shirt in when I take it off and don't want to hold it in my hands.

I have seen a review on Faliaphotgraphy's channel of shorts she used for running that have an integral holster, but then you have two pairs of shorts on...

I use this 5.11 Select Carry Pistol Pouch mainly for fashion [laugh] but also because I use a wheelchair and IWB is hard if you're fat and sitting down all the time. It has a place for the pistol and two extra magazines. I've used it with the M&P compact, full size and I'll try it with a Ruger LC9s soon. Preliminary tests look promising.

The downsides of this method which I have discovered so far are that the holster positions the barrel of the gun horizontally, which makes it difficult or impossible not to muzzle sweep yourself or someone else when drawing. Also, it's not the fastest way to draw from a holster. I think it would be a significant improvement if the gun was positioned diagonally downward in the pouch because it would be easier, faster and safer to draw. Still, it's the best fanny pack for concealed carry that I've found so far.
