The hearing at the zoning board of appeals is for Sept 28th.
Is it open to the public?
Thanks for the update, it's unfathomable to me that a private land owner needs to get permit to move dirt on their property, but there it is.
Pure genius, except you would need those people to be members, and then to be ok with having their "Condition" (Couldn't think of a better word) used in that way. However contacting the pink pistols about some sort of campaign might be a start.
This is smart and this is what the town will look for. The town will look for any reason to hang the club. Look hard into surrounding area and possible future projects the club may interfere with. Then look into those on the board and the ones casting complaints to see if they are connected with any developers.This. Plus apply for building permit for installation of lights on trap skeet fields.
You want to stop this stuff? Get involved in the local politics, get people on the ZBA. Yes, it's real work and you can't choose the issues you show up for, you have to be there all the time. But if you want to have an impact you have to be involved, for both the BS and the important issues. You have to be proactive, you can't just wait for stuff to happen. If the ZBA is appointed (not elected), get people on the Board of Selectmen, then appoint people that share your views. It's called politics.
Any time a club does this, it is critical that they document that this is a unilateral accommodation, and that the club retains the right to change these hours to any confirming with law at any time in the future. Fail to do that, and you will spend a lot of time arguing against the other side that claims a settlement and agreement was reached, and the club no longer has the right to operate outside those hours."This club voluntarily restricted shooting to 9AM to 3PM once neighbors moved in."
Chapter 40B time if the club loses.
Chapter 40B time if the club loses.
Midway Trap and Skeet Club, Falmouth. It seems like a pattern is developing in Mass using the ZBA's to shut down clubs.
Falmouth residents target shooting ranges
Seems like a good time to expand the hours. No reason now to try and accommodate except the club members.
Most of them are.Building Commissioner Rod Palmer sounds like a douche-nozzle.
ALL that said, the Cape has turned into a haven for liberal loons for sure. The signage during the last election was utterly shocking.
Big money libtard retirees with million dollar houses on the water (and massive property tax bills) have much more sway than the working class locals who shoot at these places.
