for the price difference between a Grom or Monkey, I'd be looking at a 400CC street bike

And as for riding season. it was alive and well in Florida last weekend.

Before I got on my 9 PM flight back to Boston Saturday night I hit Fort Myers Bike Night .... and it was a damn good time!

It was 85 and sunny last Friday and Saturday... great riding weather.

My wife is still there and says the weather is great.

Meanwhile my NH Harley is at my friends shop .... I need to go pick it up... I need a day where there is not salt water on the roads, and my Concours14 is stuffed in a corner in the garage waiting for spring

The two wheel drive Urals are supposed to be excellent in snow.

125cc has to be the worst option possible.
    - If you're not going to buy a 50cc for the parking benefit, then get something with at least 250cc so you can actually ride it like a motorcycle.
    - Nobody is a "First-timer" for long
    - Save money? It's $3400.
    - It's not really much easier to park than a 250-500cc bike.

I'd rent one for the fun of it, but I think the fun would wear off fast owning it.
