.....to live in a state that you can get any gun you want. Where's the fun in hunting around for it and then paying much more than free states pays. What fun is it to be able to say if I don't buy this gun right now then I won't be able to find it again for a long time..ho hum if I don't buy it today then if it is gone then I can just order one and have them ship it in. Life is much more interesting when you walk into the shop and see the gun you have been searching for..your heart rate goes up..you push away the other people around it so that they can't get to it first...you start to go over in your head what you are going to say to your loved one if they find out you got another gun...but honey I didn't have one in this caliber...yes, yes I will only eat Ramon noddels this week...no no it isn't the same as the last one, see this little part is diffrent and the only make 500 of these.....no no that is the same gun I have had for years...yes damm it I bought another gun, now get back to making my dinner (this one may not work to well, use only if you have good reflexes or don't mind sleeping with the dogs). So see how boring life would be if you can get any kind of gun you want any time you want.

I hope that the sarcasim doesn't come through to much. now back to you fun life in MA

My DW was reading this one over my shoulder. Her comment was that the dog's place would be too good; it would be the goat shed for me. [smile]

The wife and daughter are away visiting a friend for the weekend and I bought myself a new carry pistol (s&w 6906). She won't care that it's a piece I've wanted for a while and is hard to find because people just aren't giving them up. Or that It's been at this shop for a while so I talked the guy down to an almost steal. I'm going to be in so much trouble.

Funny thing is,
I've bought a fair number of guns because "I might never see one of these for sale again."
My collection would probably be half the size if I didn't have to keep playing "beat the AG's firearms drought"
When I finally move out of this socialist hellhole, I'll probably sell them all and take up golf. (Yah, right.[laugh] )

Who is kid glock?
You don't want to know. Really.

I'll tell you anyway.

He's an arrogant, annoying Wyoming native who shows up, gloats about living in WY, TYPES IN ALL CAPS BECAUSE HE'S TOO DUMB TO FIND THE CAPSLOCK KEY, and is a general PITA.

If you're really curious, feel free to hit the "Members List" button, search on his name, and click on the link to see all his posts. It'll take you about 2 minutes to be thankful that he doesn't come around here often.

Umm... never mind. I just looked at the members list myself to make you a link, and it looks like he annoyed Derek one too many times: his name's been pulled. [smile] [banana]

Thank G-d for small favors.

Yeah...that's something that's got to be hard for us married folks. One of the other posters suggested getting my wife into the shooting scene so she wouldn't mind these expensive purchases. Perhaps you could try the same?

As for me....Well I've finally found a use for the 1960's nuclear bomb shelter buried deep beneath my driveway....I'm going to turn it into a "hidden expensive purchases store" (aka armoury, but I could also keep cool electrical purchases down there)......My wife hates it down there, so never goes in.

The access to it:

The shelter itself:

Oh, now that's just too cool. I gotta wonder about the real estate ad for that... "4BR Colonial with built in bomb shelter". [rofl]

Well, we had no idea at first. During the initial walk-through I saw a steel hatch in the basement. Since the house was built in 1905 I assumed it was an old, unused, coal shute or an old furnace. Not until we got the disclosure statement did I read we had a bomb shelter.....It's kind of cold and creepy down there. Personally I would want to take my chances on the outside.

Whats so exciting about buying a gun whenever you want, when you can have the option of waiting 5+ months to get a license and THEN attempt to get rare guns in MA?? [rolleyes]

I was thinking you have a great gun safe built in.

Or getting a C&R license so you can have verboten firearms delivered right to your door???

That's why you run power to there and put in some heaters and lights. [wink]

I'm thinking of doing something like that. Seriously though, are there any special environmental conditions regarding the safe storage of ammo? Obviously, not keeping it near an open flame; but what about humidity? I'm guessing the answer is probably no (firearms and ammo seem to work in environments ranging from Siberia to the jungles of Borneo, to the heat of Iraq).

Non-stainless steel guns will rust in high humidity conditions. A dehumidifying setup of some sort is indicated if it's humid in your shelter.
