Here is a yard stick for size...bath measures 41" by 55"...so should it be called a quarter bath?

I guess that would be about right. Back in the day they took a bath once or twice a month, whether they needed it or not, so it wasn’t a major consideration.

Small antique stained glass mirror.

t

That’s a great looking mirror. Very nice.

Kitchen walls boarded, mudded, sanded, and painted. Start hanging cabinets tomorrow.

Got the wife's Mustang inspected....only 1 month late...had to move a lot of construction materials.

When I was living in NY I managed to go eight months with an expired MA inspection, no issues.
BUT my then-girlfriend got pulled over with CT plate because they ran it as a NY plate and it came up as expired. It was kind funny watching the LEO be a bit embarrassed when he realized his error.

Well, the first major problem has surfaced. Surprise! The house is out of true...badly in the kitchen. Kitchen cabinets are squared of course...but the back wall moves in as you move away from the corner...a whopping 5 inches over 5 feet...damage control in formulation...

t

I try to do that every year. Keep it going for 12 years and you have screwed the state out of a whole year of inspection fees. Inspection is one block away.
This was my scam when I lived in MA. I'd make an appt for the first weekend of the next month. February turned into March, turned into April, by the time I had moved, my inspection sticker was expiring three months after it originally was and I saved $7.25.

Well, they have to knock down the new back wall and build a tapered wall so the angle is square with the side wall. Electrician has to come back and remount the new electrical service...[angry2]

I always roll mine into May or June. That way the weather is nice if there is something that needs to be done to pass inspection.

Yikes. That will slow them down. It is always something when you are dealing with an old house.

Week 3 has begun...about half way there...groan. Started walling the master math in lieu of the kitchen cabinets. Electrician to move the new outlets tomorrow so the back wall can be rebuilt and squared. Also to drop a 220 for the electric dryer and we should be able to do laundry at the house instead of the laundry-mat.

Picked up a weeping cherry for the yard. Once an old stump is ground down, I'll plant it in its stead.

Looking good.

I like what you did with the bathroom window. I replaced ours with glass blocks in our 1920 cement block bungalow. My wife’s not a fan of the block and hates the pedestal sink due to the loss of storage.

I’d be interested in a close up of the window if you don’t mind. Vinyl framed?

Thanks,

Bob

Sorry; that’s the original window with a pattern decal. Per code we have to replace it with a modern tempered glass window; and we’ll use a simple decal again. Honestly I thought they’d have replaced it before tiling.

I would have thought they would have replaced it first as well. A simple decal is a great way to go.

Thank you

Bob

Week four underway. Vinyl plank floor in. Mulching done. Raking the yard next. Drop ceiling up for tomorrow, window frame in kitchen, box radiators...

Master bathroom plumbed
Shower unavailable until new window tomorrow
Kitchen measured for counters
Drop ceiling boxed and cross members cut
Went and got the 2x2 tile for the ceiling

Some of the original wallpaper exposed
Trying to get in contact with the painter to get in his book
Arranging for a couple dying trees to come down

If I hadn't already had a heart attack, coordinating this would give me one

On hold until the 2 new windows come in. Cutting and laying shelf liner in the new cabinets. Moving out of the living room.
