Is this considered a hand stop or forward grip

It is from strike industry, and they call it “MLOK Link Curved Fore Grip”. Nowhere to grab and get fingers around so wondering if in Mass it would considered a Hand Stop ?

Is it serialized?

Seriously though.

Not a vertical foregrip. It is an angled foregrip and a-ok on a ar pistol.

What do they mean by “protruding” ? Anything that sticks out is protruding !

The BS law doesn’t say anything about orientation, just a second grip ?
151 (b) a semiautomatic pistol with the capacity to accept a detachable feeding device andincludes at least 2 of the following features:
(i) the capacity to accept a feeding device that attaches to the pistol outside of the pistol grip;
(ii) a second handgrip or a protruding grip that can be held by the non-trigger hand;
(iii) a threaded barrel capable of accepting a flash suppressor, forward handgrip or silencer; or
(iv) a shroud that encircles either all or part of the barrel designed to shield the bearer’s hand from heat, excluding a slide that encloses the barrel.

Things that go up, protruding… were I not literate on gun laws I would’ve thought it’s some sort of erotica.
Definition of protrude is - to stick out from or through something:

Nothing to do with going up or retractable.

A hand stop protrudes but guess it can’t be held.
Just wondering if this grip runs afoul of this BS law or not.

IMO if it's time for you to worry about this item, you've got MUCH bigger things to worry about. The only time I gave any consideration was putting a grip onto my first AR pistol upper. Then it was to go angled since a vertical was verboten by the AFT.
