Is 'Open Carry' Leader Scott Webb a Loose Cannon?

Ugh. I think someone needs a new poster child. I support the group, but it doesn't appear that this guy should be running the show.

I've tried searching for Pro-2A discussion on this, as I'm hoping that this is just a media stunt, but there isn't much being said about it.

My ex filled a 209A on me, lied to the police and then left the state. Women can do some strange things when they are PO'd, so the "he threatened to kill me" statements don't hold a lot of weight with me without some proof. I'm a little concerned about his admission of mental health treatment but without more details that's not a disqualifier for me either. Would you deny a person that has a mild social anxiety disorder and is seeking treatment the right to own and carry a gun?

None-the-less, that group may want to look for another President. He's not the best choice out there. The reporting was a hit job.

I know nothing about the MI movement - but we have seen the media call Sarah Palin the 'leader of the Tea Party' so there's ample evidence they spin it how they wish.

And Fox is just as anti-gun as any of the others.

ETA: The website is www.michiganopencarry.org I did a little poking around and found that he is no longer listed as president but was mentioned on the website as president as recently as September 1. Looks like they may have been successful in removing him from his role.

I would be inclined to agree with you on this point, except that he has NUMEROUS women who took out restraining orders on him, all claiming that he "threatened to kill me". I'm thinking maybe he was just a poor choice for the Michigan Open carry folks.

If the ones that follow know about the first "he threatened to kill me" they just fall in line if they are pissed. He owes child support so what better way to screw him over than get a PPO on him. You really don't know how vicious *some* women can be.

Exactly. I hadn't seen or talked to my ex in over 5 years and as she headed south she 209A'd me on her way out. It was the last "dig" she could get in. It was a cheap shot and uncalled for.

The whole report smelled funny. The fact that they had no charges in any of that reporting was a tip off that it was complete garbage.
