The Metrowest Tactical (MWT) Group will be hosting an Introduction to IDPA Clinic on Saturday, March 6, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Harvard Sportsmens Club in Harvard, MA. This course will introduce students to the principles, rules and skills used to compete in IDPA matches. The class will begin in the classroom and include practical skill drills and demonstrations with the live fire portion of the course taking place on the indoor range.
Practical and live fire training will include training led by several MWT shooters, including Master-class shooters Gene Gelberger and Dave Solimini. Come and join us to learn all about IDPA and receive practical skills and live fire training including, but not limited to: drawing & shooting; use of concealment garments; various fast reolading techniques; use of cover; shooting over, under and around walls and barricades; shooting on the move; shooting with one-hand; shooting at moving targets, swinging targets, and disappearing targets;and low light shooting techniques.
EQUIPMENT NEEDED: a pistol or revolver (9mm/.38 or larger caliber), strong side holster, concealment garment, at least 3 magazines, speedloaders or moonclips, at least 150 rounds of ammunition, eye/ear protection, baseball-style cap with bill. You can place your ammunition carriers in your pockets, if necessary, but it would be better if you had pouches for your ammunition. If you have a hand-held tactical flashlight you may bring it but it will not be necessary.
CLASS SIZE & TUITION: Class size will be limited to 12 due to space availability on the indoor range. Cost will be $100.00 and will include a pizza lunch.
WAITING LIST & REFUND POLICY: Once we fill the 12 slots we will start a waiting list. If you cancel on or before February 15, 2010 you will be give a full refund. Cancellations after February 15, 2010 will only be refunded if your slot is filled by someone on the waiting list.
