Introducing the Glock 26X and 26Xc

This whole small gun thing is a joke to me......crazy.

Full size 17 in shorts and a tshirt in FL all year long...never an issue....worrying about printing and carrying small guns because of it is gay. Im not super thin, but I'm also not a huge guy. I have like 4 of them now...and a 19 just because...well..got a good deal.....and like a 1911 everyone should have a 19.

If Im the least bit worried about it I go to the Mossy MC2C which is thinner than a G48 yet has 16 in the mag and cost me about 1/2 the price of a 48 and had night sights included. But mostly that gun just sits in the console of the truck all year long.
Congratulations - you live in Florida. What's the point of me carrying a G45 with a 10rd mag when I can shoot a G26 just as well/better, and conceal it better?

If you guys can get over the "girl gun" thing, the Walther PDP-F conceals very well, grip texture far superior to a Glock and is quickly becoming a fan favorite of many.

I was a believer in smaller is better for concealment, and I still like smaller guns. My carry is an FN Reflex with 15 rounds in a package a little bigger than my old Ruger LC9s. With the 11 round mag it just disappears.
I was talking about this with my son, who just said why don't you carry a real gun. I replied something to the lines of "try carrying that Glock .45 (Model 21) you've got all day and you'll think again about smaller guns"
My son then stoop up and lifted his T-shirt, and said he'd been carrying the G21 around the house all day with no problem. He was around 5'3 and 140# at the time, he was 12. I gotta say, I couldn't tell, even when I knew it was there.

Some people make it look easy.

If you are going to do that, then why not just carry a Glock 19? I don’t get it.

Modularity before it was cool.
If all I want is the comp with short grip. I can. If I want to run a comped 19. I can.
If I want to run a base 26. I can.

Yes, I have 19s, etc.

Let the autists have their legos.

If you are going to lengthen the butt of the gun with a +2 baseplate, then why not just carry a gun with a longer grip?
Normally, that's exactly the decision I make. Regardless of season, if I'm outside the house, I'm probably carrying the G45. Occasionally, for whatever reason, I want something thinner - that's what my 10 rd, gen 1 Shield is for. It's about the size of a G48, with full (legal) capacity.

Wait, your 12yr old was AIWB a G21 around the house and busting your balls for carrying a girls gun? Good kid. lol

Yeah...you do you. That is true....crip mags and all....there is little point to going full size unless your like me you hated the small grip for actually grabbing the damn thing.

But it matters little if you like a small gun, can grab it quickly and can shoot it well.

I hated the 26 I had when I was in MA....and lot of people like me.... go to small guns and can't shoot them well and end up in a big circle back to full size.
And when I was in MA there was a time you could actually carry pre ban 17 mags.......now the state is full on gay.

You gave your 12 year old kid a Glock fo-fii? holeephuc.

There’s only two Glock models that matter

17/19

That’s it everything, else they make is redundant and pointless.

Edited to add: different people are built differently, use different holsters, and have the holsters adjusted differently, so what works for me might not work for others. I’m 5’ 9” and 165 lbs. I just don’t have a lot of real estate to conceal big guns.

Your edit is spot on. While our carry preference differs (I conceal my 26 better than my 48, and I shoot my 26 better than my 48 and as well as I shoot my 19), the fact is that everyone is built different and carries different and it is a tremendously personal experience that you have to play around with to find what works best for you.

All that said, to me, the premise of a 26x is dumb as I carry my 19 and 26 in the same length holster. The 26 benefits from the longer holster for the “keel effect” to keep the grip from printing. Same reason I have a 48 and not a 43x, but again, ymmv.

One of my AIWB holsters will fit a 48, so it helps with the keel effect. I'm actually thinking about picking up a 48 COA.
