I know the basic knots for commercial fishing, back when I lobstered I knew a few more plus the splices but I tend to forget what I don't regularly use
 
Enbloc starts the best threads!

Even though this thread is 'lashing', I love using a friction hitch when tarping things.
Here's one. I go around the mainline a couple more times with mine when finishing.

Yeah, this is a great knot for setting up tents/hammocks. Especially when you're trying to save ounces and don't want to have hardware for tensioning lines.
 
When I use a rope to secure a load, I tie a figure-8-on-a bight


Then run the rope around the attachment point, back up to the loop from the fig. 8, then back down to a taut-line hitch. But, the final pass I slip, so I can free it up, quickly.
