Hi folks,

Quick question about the disposal of sand from an indoor range with obvious lead particulate. Namely, who have you folks been using for the disposal and what has it been costing you per yard? If you'd prefer to PM me I certainly understand. How often do you change it?

Range is located in southern NH.

Thanks!
Fitz

There is a group of masochists right here on NES who would probably take most of the lead out for free, if there are nuggets in that sand. [laugh]

One of my clubs has a company come in and clean it all out, at no cost to the club. The company reclaims the lead and sells it, as I understand the situation. No, I don't know who the company is.

Grins.. the sand has been in place for quite some time and although it's been mined, it definitely needs to be replaced. Would you be able to put me in touch with someone at your club who may know the company's name?

Thanks,
Fitz

Go to www.brp.org and send an Email to either the president or chief range officer (their Email addresses are listed on the site). One of them should be able to provide contact info.

DukeInMaine has truckloads of lead gold in his driveway IIRC. You might want to ask around, many would volunteer to do it.
