After two years of not working (due to hand surgeries and the heart) I have an interview on Thursday with a security company. Actually - interview is kind of a misnomer. Three of the guys that worked for the security company I used to work for 4 years ago left and started their own company. One of the guys whom I'm good friends with called me about three months ago to see if we were looking for work. I told him I couldn't commit to anything then, but I just got off the phone with one of the other two now (he was the Ops Mgr at the old company). He told me to come down and he'd show me the schedule of what they've got and let me pick what I want.

YAHOOOOO!!!! I might just be a contributing member of society again! [lol] Ed will be SOOOO happy. :D

Aw, Congrats Lynne. I am still enjoying being home for the moment. I know it will eventually wear off, but for now I like it. [lol]

So.... After you start getting paychecks, what gun are you going to buy first?? :D

Adam

After paying the bills off...either a Kimber or a 1911...I haven't decided as yet. I've gotten so used to saying "no, not now" that it's gonna take a while to get out of that mode. [lol]

That's gonna be tough too cuz I do enjoy being home and doing stuff here, but, my beloved is working two jobs and it's just not fair, so off to work I (hopefully) go.

I don't want to get too excited until I see what the rate of pay is and what they have available for jobs, AND where the jobs are. I don't want to spend half my check in gas money. There is one thing however, that is a given in whatever job I take - that being - it HAS to be an armed position. I won't work security unarmed. I'm not exactly threatening looking, ya know? Am I Len??? [lol]

Lynne I totally understand. If glenn were doing the same thing I would also go find another job. Don't blame you on doing security armed. I would be the same way.

You should build the 1911 with us...

I'm seriously thinking about doing that. However, I gotta admit, if the $$'s are there and I get a chance at a Kimber...it's MINE!!! [lol] Then the 1911. [wink]

No, Lynne looks like a sweetheart . . . and she is!

But don't cross her, as looks are deceiving!

[lol]

Good luck on the job!

Beginning Nov 1st - I will be among the GAINFULLY employed!!!! Yahoo! I was given uniforms before I even signed the dotted line. [lol]

My first posting is an Antique show at the Boston Park Plaza. I can't wait to tell Ed. :D

Welcome back to the ranks of the overworked and underpaid.

Looks like you may be able to get in on the 1911A1 build party after all. We aren't going to have the build party until this winter, maybe spring, anyways. So, that should give you 3 to 4 months, maybe a little more.
