I can't believe how hard it is to find a good IWB holster these days!! Waits for High Noon, Milt and other good holster companies are just crazy! Milt is over 14 weeks now.

It's bad enough that I need at least 3 or 4 spare mags... but now I can't even carry them??? And you guys complain about MA guns laws... I can't even get good holsters to CCW with! [thinking]

Local gun shops NEVER (in my 30 years of shooting) carried any quality holsters.

A few gun show vendors do have some quality holsters, but one no longer works the shows here due to problems with the promoter. The only other quality show vendor has also had problems with the promoter and is close to not working any shows in MA too. At least since he's from NH, you'll still find him at shows up there that Carole does not run if he bails on her.

Brownells and Midway stock some high quality 1911 and Glock mags. Gunnersalley.com carries a lot of high quality holsters in stock and you'll generally receive them within 5 days of placing your order.

I don't know about Gunnersalley.com, but both MidwayUSA and Brownells give a pretty good discount on mags if you have your C&R FFL.

Dave, no such discount from Gunnersalley.com, but reasonable shipping costs and fast delivery plus reasonable prices and sometimes a special 10% off sale makes them a reasonable alternative.

Have you checked with some of the Mitch Rosen authorized retailers? Those guys have MR's holsters in stock.

I don't know which retailers are authorized but I just checked thier website. At first I did look at them but many holsters were in the $200 range... however I just noticed the Clipper which looks like a nice IWB for a fair price... I'll look into that. Any retailers that you'd recommend?

Thanks!

Awhile back I got 5 USGI mags marked with manufacturer codes and "property of US Government" for $5 a pop through a private sale. Never had a problem with them feeding or anything. I used to carry em in a modified shoulder rig (holster was left side, horizontal, mag carriers were on the right, rig was originally meant for a PPK.) I never had a problem with anyone ever noticing the 5" 1911 while wearin a work shirt.

This my friend is something I've noticed and had bothered me as well! I can't see how people can spend so much money on guns and CCW without a good quality holster!! Maybe it's too much to manage the inventory.

Too costly to manage that sort of inventory and Yes, most want $10 holsters for their $600 handguns. I used to be one of those too until a couple of years ago when I learned some valuable lessons.

Unfortunately, the only Mitch Rosen gear I have is a belt that I bought used, and at a steal of a price.

Keep looking, I'm sure you'll find what you need.

What kind of gun(s) are you carrying? I'd wager at least a couple of NES'rs might have a holster or two they'd be willing to part with...

I have 2 soft IWB holsters right now (uncle Mike's). One's for a CZ75, one's for a snubby K frame Smith. If you're looking for comfort with a K frame I have a Safariland lo ride made for a K frame with 4" barrell.

I have an IWB from High Noon for a full size 1911 that jsut doesn't fit me. Has the belt clip. Sits in a drawer. I'm sure others have items in their collection that are never used.

My favorite holsters are all Mitch Rosen. I was very satisfied with the first one and every one since. I also have a Kramer for my old Firestar that Fits well. I find the detail in the Rosen stuff superior to the Kramer, but you pay for it.

Since the name of the game when it comes to CCW is "Nobody Knows", getting the best gear you can is worth the money and the wait. Sucks when it doesn't work out, but I don't know any way else to try.

Kahr K9, Glock 26 and possbily G19. I'm closing in on some of the ones you guys have just referred me to. I think I found some places for the Mitch Rosen G26 Clip On. For the smaller guns the clip ons with straight cant seem to work best for me. I also like the extra leather (slide guard) to keep the sweat off the slide. Thanks everyone!

You might try Lightning arms .
http://www.lightningarms.com/products.htm

These guys stock a good selection of Sparks and Allessi holsters.

A well made holster, and a proper gun belt are a necessity to effectivly CCW. Cheap holsters are ok for the range, but not for serious carry.

Thanks- just got an email from Craig on one I was looking for. Great place. I got my VMII for my Sig 239 from him. [wink]

You're welcome to try my Comp-tac holster with your K9 at Riverside.

Thanks Dave I'd like to do that- I have many Comp-tac paddle holsters I use for IDPA and love them- what kind is yours? I've hear they have an IWB holster that is nice too that's kydex...just can't understand how a kydex IWB would fit well.

I'm hoping I can make it there next Thursday- you?

C-Tac!
I actually have 3 of them! I won't even try anything else. No need, it's a perfect holster that just works!

It's an IWB holster: their C-T.A.C. model. I'll be there next Thursday.

Whatever you do, when selecting a holster make sure it is designed so you can reholster your firearm using only one hand.

A holster that requires you to hold it open with one hand while inserting the gun with the other is not a safe holster. You should never cross your hand, or any other part of your body, with the muzzle.

Stay safe out there! [hmmm]

One of the many reasons I chose Kydex. No matter how tight I have my belt, it ain't gonna squash!
