It appears Illinois Congress has the votes to pass which will eliminate "Assault Weapons", any magazines that hold more then 10 rounds and eliminate all gun ownership for anyone under the age of 21.

The measure would ban the sale of assault weapons immediately, prevent sales of ammunition magazines holding more than 10 rounds and raise eligibility for a state firearm owner identification card to 21.

Simple question. How will this law change a damned thing with regards to the shootings and murders in Chicago? Rhetorical question, of course.

The intention of gun control law isn’t to prevent citizens from shooting eachother. It’s to prevent citizens from shooting the legislators.
So that begs the question...are guillotines outlawed in the US? ...or rope? Asking for a friend.

Doesn't Illinois do this sh*t every few years, gets shut down in court then does it again?

That State is so retarded, I don't follow them. But it seems every few years we get a thread that they make gun ownership very hard, then it goes to court and it gets reverted.

Maybe I am wrong. So much sh*t comes out of that place, it gets confusing.

'no weapons in suburbs' agenda is strong with libs.

Dems control Illinois which is corrupt as hell. Chicago is a hell hole and their Mayor thinks she's a star. She's totally incompetent and hideous but the Leftists get what they want and deserve. Companies and citizens are leaving and Dems double down. There's no hope for them.

That’s the new push from Everytown & Giffords - why take on one court (SCOTUS) when you can take on 50 state courts? It costs virtually nothing to make new laws (which are largely unfounded or vastly underfunded to implement) and they spend taxpayers money defending the lawsuits from gun rights groups.

Yup, and these morons don't get that they're being used by the Leftists.

Why doesn't Biden vow to confiscate all the auto Glocks those Chicago black teens and preteen boys seem to collect like gucci swag these days? Aren't switches a huge exploding problem right now in chiraq

This thing?

The prevailaing opinion is the ruling from the Macon County judge simply has laid the groundwork for appeal.

There is a hearing on (or about) April 12 to discuss the three pending Federal cases. I doubt this will be resolved any time soon.

Yesterday I sojourned into the Pro Shop at DS Arms .. for those who don't know, DS is a purveyor of just about anything FAL related. In fact they own the production rights, the original blueprints, and all the tooling which FN used in Belgium. That said, everything subject to the ban has been left on display and marked "not for sale" -or- pulled from the sales floor until this all gets sorted out. One of the "not for sale" items was a Ruger 10/22, because it had a threaded barrel and a muzzle device. GONE was the kiosk with all the mags for ARs and AKs, the adjustable stocks, etc. Gone were all the other banned stuff such as the 17-round Glock mags, the BX-25s for Ruger, and the list goes on. Their AR modification business has dropped to zero (unless the customer supplies all the parts) because that constitutes manufacturing, so they can't do that either. Bottom line, other than sales to LEOs, the pro shop is barely moving enough inventory to pay the salaries and keep the lights on. They are most certainly *not making a profit.
