Well... I haven't shot many centerfire rifles, but I really liked the M1 Garand that I shot. Lots of fun. And a cool *ping* sound to let you know to reload. [lol]

I think the enbloc clip sounds more like "pah-ching" myself.

Wasn't she the Chinese Women's Ping Pong Champ of 1971?

For the rifle question, I'd go with the M1-A in a SOCOM II configuration. Select fire would be a major plus though.

What's that big crazy thing that they were trying to sell to the military.

The one that shoots the new round. And taht has that 37mm that can go over walls and the like. That thing would kick ass if it didn't weigh a bazillion pounds.

I would have to go with a Remington 700 in .308 or maybe one of McMillans bolt guns with a detachable box magazine also in .308. Hey Cledus are you a member at Old Colony? What is your game? I have been a member for years but mostly shoot 5 stand. Maybe we have met.

Ok, but what in the hell is this thing called? I'd look it up, but I don't remember who makes it.

Mauser 98 derivative preferably U.S Springfield. The 03A3 is my favorite due to it's superior aperature sight. My primary requirement is reliability under all geograhic and climatic conditions. Living on the great plains a longer range rifle is a must, rapidity of fire is not.

M1 Garand in 30-06.

My friends Model 70 Winchester in 270 with his father in laws custom loads. (He scares me when he has this rifle in his hands. I witnessed him do a 200 yrd shot at a deer (farm fields) and bitched and swore up and down because he missed where he was aiming. Now mind you, he only missed his 'spot' by like 1/2 to 1/4 of an inch.)
