If All You Had Was A Pre-98 Glock 19 Gen 2... Could You Survive In Massachusetts?

Problem is bringing the Glock back.
If someone were a part time resident of another state, they wouldnt be required to register their guns in MA, so why would legally purchasing a gun in another state and possessing it in MA be an issue?

I haven’t been able to find an answer for this specific scenario. Maybe it’s not a problem, such as people moving to MA with their legally purchased guns.

You keep the MA drivers license. You don’t have to own a home, just prove that you live there at least part time. But it depends on whether the FFL will accept those documents or not after seeing your MA ID.

I’m not doing this, I’m just pointing out the ways. If someone absolutely can’t live without a new Glock and aren’t willing to move, then this is a half solution. Problem is bringing the Glock back.
I’m aware of the part time resident rules for gun buying. Most dealers will refuse to sell a gun to someone who is a part time NH resident but come from a state and has a drivers license from a state where said gun is not allowed. I know I know dealers should not enforce out of state laws, etc………. But they do …..

IDK either. Im just imagining someone who owns property in both states, lives in both to some extent and now needs to somehow track what gun was bought where and make sure it stays in the right state. Crazy. Im tempted to say it cant be that way but who knows

I own guns that are 50+ years old that i'd be willing to carry if in a situation where it's the only option I had. Same goes for a gen 2 G17 or G19. Sure, those might be old, and have some of the finish worn away. The wonderful thing about Glocks is all of the aftermarket support, so if one of the parts is starting to get worn out, obtaining a replacement part is a rather easy thing.

Personally, I own a gen4 G19. However, i'm partial to the finger grooves (I know some people absolutely loathe them, but that grip makes it unbelievably comfortable to shoot for long periods of time). I feel without the finger grooves, I'd still be able to shoot an older G19 proficiently, but it may take a little longer to be as accurate (I did rent a gen2 a number of years back, and wasn't wowed at the experience). The time I rented a gen4, a G19 came home with me the same week.

Is this only for NH, or is this the same list for any state?
That list of quals is federal. It's worth knowing that not every dealer will even deal with dualies, but the better non-boxy stores generally do without any trouble.

Why can't you just bring it? You bought it legally as a NH resident, now you're heading back to your own residency in MA with your LTC. What's the problem?
I guess that may be totally legit. You have a MA LTC. That's your gun you bought legally. The only reason you couldnt buy it in MA is because of stupid restrictions on the FFLs.

Ok, so let's take up an notch. Can a double resident buy a $30 anderson lower in NH, then sell it to an MA resident in an LTC-to-LTC private transaction?

Yes

But past a point doing this too much is an easy/ free ride to Club Fed.

And after you manage that, all you have is a boring glock.
To each their own but the whole point is its pretty pedestrian. Only low info, low IQ pant shitters that can't see beyond deli ticket emporium think it's some kind of gnomish mysticism

I'll always be amazed at this weird MA centric Glock thing. How were so many people on NES not aware that buying a new Glock in MA is pretty simple?
Well, I would say that it wasn't exactly common knowledge. I mean if you didn't find out on NES, or just happen to stroll into the right shop, they went to some trouble to perpetuate the idea that it was impossible. Just like AR's after Maura's edict.
I would be willing to bet that frame transfers and those who would not bend to her will, pissed her off enough to push through the nonsense we are dealing with now.

Are they not still selling them? Been out since 2021 so im not really in the loop.

The years i was in MA i never had a problem finding new glocks.
I’ve never had an issue buying a Glock.

I was being funny.

I bought several in the past 2-3 months.

I’m really shocked that few people know how this is a thing.

The globe knows more than NES.

Sad….

If i had to guess back in the mid 00s at a minimum 1 in 10 reasonably sized FFLs would sell whatever.

It wasnt always the same shop as they would come and go but it was always pretty easy to find.

1998

Sadly I was not in the know back then.

I guess I could live with idiotic gun laws, but if a state violates gun rights they tend to violate others. The communist mind virus infects everything, govt policy, healthcare, education etc. I could learn to use a pistol with a manual safety, but I can't live in the dark without reliable electricity and heat, have crappy "equitable" healthcare, lose all parental rights and be bled dry by anti-business, high-tax policies.

That being said, while the new gun law was the straw that broke the camel's back when it came to us leaving, there are many, MANY other reasons to leave. It really wasn't the fact that I couldn't easily purchase certain guns, or that i had to ruin an upper by welding a stupid linear comp to it, it was the general attitude of the stupid commies here...we know better than you, and are generally your better, and therefore can tell you what to do. It pervades all areas of government policy here and has infected other areas of life (education, healthcare etc.). Who knows what other rights they will abridge because they think I'm such a knuckle dragger that I can't fend for myself. And they have set a precedent of going after political enemies, indefinitely keeping them in prison, censoring and controlling the media etc. It's like being in the soviet union during the civil war, if you were able to you got out when it became apparent the commies were going to win, or you lived in a horrible $%^@ hole for the rest of your life.

Guns probably rank about 5th or 6th as to why I want to leave this state. Like other have said if it was just the gun laws I could live with that. While I'm a manly Glock shooter and I like Glocks there are other guns just as good. If I have an M&P and mini 14 than so be it. I can make it work. But its a whole host of reasons. First the cost of living is just stupid. The wild taxes and its still not enough. What are they doing with the gas tax while our roads are in this type of condition. That brine or whatever it is that they use with road salt just eats at cars like nobody's business. The cost of utilities are just obscene. And it's only going to get worse once these as*hats stop allowing the use of "fossil" fuels to generate electricity. Where going to power our state with wind, solar, and hydro. Oh and whatever electricity we import from another state which will make it even more expensive. Or we won't and we'll just have rolling blackouts like California. The final topper is the winter. God I hate the cold. Like I can't put into words how much I f'n hate the cold. I'm stuck here for another 8 to 10 ish years but I'm too far into my pension to turn back now. Plus with one kid in college and another in HS were going to be here for at best close to another 6 or so years. Oh and my G2 Glocks work just fine.
