If there were no new Glocks available by ANY means (FTF or Frame Game) - Could you survive???
I'd just like to know if only owning an old Glock (I know we can get newer ones) would put a person over the edge to move out of Massachusetts.

I'd say "no".

If you have a great job, home, family, and friends here in Massachusetts - I'd rather have all that rather than move away just to own a new Glock.

It would be a sad lonely life sitting in a new house with just Gen 5 and a new Noveske at the table and nothing else.

Even a Glock Gen 2 is better than some other newer manufacturers.

Could you survive with only a Gen 2 Glock?

Is the question "could you only ever own a glock"
Or is it "you can only ever own this specific glock"
or is it "there are other guns in this world, but you're just stuck with this one glock?"
Could you only ever own a gun that Massachusetts would never ban?

If all you care about is gun bullshit then I feel sorry for you. The state of gun politics in mass is not even on my top 10 list in terms of reasons to want to leave this shithole. Yes it sucks but honestly im never predicating a move based off only gun bullshit. I can't think of anything more irrelevant.

You want to know what bothers me more? Potholes. I don't have the state running around trying to steal my guns constantly on the other hand their lack of road maintenance has consistently drilled a big f***ing hole in my wallet. 🤣

You can buy a gun in NH while still living in MA if you prove dual residence with any of the following:
  • A current utility bill for gas, electric, oil, water/sewer, cable/dish, or telephone service
  • A signed lease or rent agreement
  • A mortgage statement
  • A notarized letter from the property owner or current resident
  • A government check or document issued by an official in your municipality
  • A payroll check, payroll document, or employment contract
  • A signed real estate closing statement or deed
  • A USPS Change of Address form
  • A Certificate of Occupancy (CO) for a new home
  • A document showing that you enrolled a dependent minor child in a public school within the city
1, 2, 4 should be real easy to get.

So what is the hack???

What is the cheapest way to get 1,2, or 4?

What is the lowest possible rent payment to claim NH duel residency.

Can I rent a corner or somebodies basement or a closet to rest my wary head?

It's a hypothetical...

If you could only have an old Glock or even just a revolver - would that be enough to get you to move out of Mass.

Oh.

I thought the hypothetical was "if you were stuck somewhere in Massachusetts armed with nothing but a '90s Glock, is that enough gun to help you escape the state?"

I like that hypothetical better. It's more entertaining.

About a decade ago my only "serious" handgun was a G19.2 so I have no problem with it. Not sure why that's the one you focused on though.

me no undastan
I'm saying that if you could only have a old G19 and nothing newer - could you still live a happy life in Massachusetts.

Would having an older gun still provide the protection you would want for self defense for the rest of your life here?

Because it's so old that it's exempt from the AG rules and probably will never be banned in Massachusetts.

Short answer based on my opinion, I like Glocks so having that gun would be more than sufficient, Gen 2 or not, they've proven their reliabilty. I'd be happier with prebans in it but hey

I have a G19.2 and a G19.5 - they're really not all that different. The gen5 has a few nice-to-have features but they're by no means deal breakers for me. My only concern these days would be reliability with hollow points with 10rd mags - I've never tested it but I've heard it can be so-so, although you could just run Hornady I guess.

Poser. We should be chanting 'Shame' to your every post :p.

When looking to relocate after Ida, I did look at the 'general' direction of a bunch of states. Didn't choose Georgia due to it's being a flip-flopper in elections. Several other states I really wanted to move to, but possible future gun laws.

Little different situation I know.

Indeed.
That is why Pre Ban Square Notch Drop Free Fully Metal Lined mags are so magical.

Just did some googling and apparently the current generation 10rd mags with orange followers are perfectly good to go with JHP. Hooray!

Sure. Except you can no longer legally carry them so they're worth about as much as a new ten rounder. I literally wouldn't pay $30 for a "pre-ban" today.

Are you saying you're coming out of the closet???

High Taxes
Insane regulations
Unfriendly people
Shitty roads

Access to guns isn't top on the list of why Mass sucks
