I was shopping in NH today with my son. We were walking through the parking lot when a couple came out of their car and was walking in front of us. The guy's jacket lifted up enough for me to spot a gun on him. As I was walking behind them, I said, "Man I love New Hampshire". He turned around and I pointed to where his gun was. He smiled and laughed. We chatted a bit before entering the store.

Yep, many of us carry in NH. Many more would carry open but since it costs $10 and a week's wait to get a concealed carry permit in NH we simply do that so people don't know if there's a gun in the room or not. It keeps the bad guys guessing :)

The OC thing is convenience. For all practical purposes the "OC without a license" thing in NH is,nearly worthless because of the car problem.

I saw someone carry a bag of weed in his back pocket at the parking lot today. I said, " man I love Massachusetts " he turned around and I point to where his weed was. He smiled and fist bumped . We got a little high before we entered the court house. What a nice n*****!

cool story bro.

I was in the Mall of NH the other day with the wife and saw 2 guys OCing. It's really not that common up here. I see it, but infrequently. Like someone else said, the license is cheap and easy to get, so I assume most folks just conceal.

I saw an older gent OCing a 1911 in a supermarket, in west Lebanon, last year or the year before. A woman pushing a shopping carriage while textingon her iPhone crashed right into him, while not excessively hard, managed to get him off his center of gravity and send him into the dairy case.
My NH buddy and I were within arms reach, and grabbed him to prevent a lot of spilled milk.
Chick was thoroughly apologetic, OCer laughed it off, my buddy and I complemented him on his taste in sidearms. NOBODY GOT SHOT. [smile]

In the mall? Carry is disallowed per policy at all Simon Malls. In theory the OCers would be OK until security or a mall official asked them to leave. Then they would have to leave immediately or risk being jammed up by the police for trespassing.

That's great considering the policy is in like a 6 point font on a tiny label on the door. [rofl] I'm sure they stared at the tiny text before opening the door... [rofl] They probably just didn't know/care... and depending on their appearance, they might not even get pinged.

His gun must not be working right then

But, Dick's Sells guns in the Pheasant Lane Mall. A little hipocrisy there I think.

My buddy purchased a shotgun there. The store employee said he is required to walk the gun to the door (exit to the outside not into the mall) and could not hand it to him until they were outside the store

The appropriate response is "No need to worry, I'll give you and armed escort while you carry that shotgun for me".
