I saw a saiga .223 recently, checked saiga's website and it was listed as 5.56

Has anyone actually pushed 5.56 out of theirs? I'm thinking of getting one as the next toy.

Are you worried that a 5.56x45 might explode in it since it mentioned .223? I wouldn't worry about it. The commies over at Russian American Armory Company use .223 and 5.56x45 interchangeably.

I thought that was so, however I wanted to confirm with others that are more knowledgeable than me. I'm not fond of the ar system and the ak format suffices. Thanks!

I thought that you can shoot .223 out of a 5.56 barrel fine, but you really don't want to shoot 5.56 out of a .223 barrel... I could be wrong but that is my understanding.

But was your barrel chambered for .223 or 5.56? I believe the 5.56 is slightly larger bore than the .223. Hence shooting 5.56 through a .223 barrel its a tight fit.

Nope only the pressure is alittle different (sometimes)

The saiga on on the web site is listed as 5.56, .223 at the dealer. Better safe than sorry I say.
