I know we all hate Mass so where would you like to live?

I don't think MA is that bad, I don't hate the state just because of some bad politics. There are some great places here. I live right by the beach and have access to dozens of lakes for kayaking and fishing. And after years of failed pregnancies and miscarriages, coming to MA was great for the health coverage that allowed my wife and me to finally be able to have the wonderful little girl we have - it's not the main reason we came here but it was a great side-benefit (I'm sure I can guess how some of you may feel about Romneycare, and I may have thought that as well if it didn't entirely change my life for the better).

I appreciate that some of you look at the state primarily through the eyes of conservative firearms enthusiasts. There is some beauty and opportunity here, and given how many of us with similar enthusiasm are here, I think we're making it a better place for ourselves regardless of the politics.

That said, I do miss the mountains of Pennsylvania where I grew up and spent most of my life.

Well considering I am a transplant and have lived here for 25 years, and have lived in other places including overseas, I can honestly say there are better places to live, and Yes I hate Romney care. I am not a fan of socialized medicine of any kind. Hubby has family here, but we are both sick of the politics, gun laws, taxes, etc, etc. The list goes on.

Alright, the taxes I can't argue with. I haven't been here that long, but dang, the taxes! Sheesh. And I was around for the last election and I couldn't believe that some of these guys got voted back in. Thought the precedent might have been changing after Scott Brown won against Coakley.

I took that Find Your Spot quiz and it put me right back in Pennsylvania, hehe.

My dream is that the Cape will break off of MA in a wicked bad storm and float north, attaching itself to NH or southern ME.
Then I could stay on my beautiful rock and be in a free state at the same time.

Some day.

Glad you figured out that MA sucks before buying a house. I came to this realization about 6 months after buying my house. Now I'll probablu get spanked when I try to sell next year, but I want OUT.

Im in the same boat bought my house 6yrs ago, definatly would take a huge loss if i tried to sell now. But if I could i would love to move to the Carolinas,NH,Texas.

What are you smoking? You musta been wicked high when you wrote this.[grin] When you are done kayaking the Quabbin and singing Kumbaya at Revere Beach, stop and think about who pays for that side benefit of great coverage?

Now, I am very happy for you that you were able to have a child, truly. I have kids myself and they are my whole world as i am sure you daughter is yours But every dollar this state spends on free health care, they first have to take from someone who earned it. I am not trying to attack you personally as I believe that your presence here shows that we probably share many of the same views, but I am trying to illustrate why so many are opposed to Romney care and why, as with many of our welare state's programs. it sucks

I am firmly of the belief that every able bodied person should work or be productive, and so many people just live on the dole instead. I am not talking about the young couple who are both working and trying to make ends meet, I am talking about the generations of Welfare Queens that teach their kids not to marry their Baby Daddy because the benefits are better. I am not talking about the elderly trying to make ends meet on a fixed income, I am talking about the illegal immigrant whose kids get free health care, free school and he works a cash job and pays nothing in taxes.

When the .gov forces people who work to support those who will not, it is the begininng of the end.

Mass sucks buddy, for so many reasons, but I agree it has its good points too. Great food, hospitals, colleges etc and it is where I am from. I will never leave but I will personally try to introduce as many people as i can to shooting the 2nd ammendment.

Czech Republic. One may carry concealed and one may also own ARs, AKs, and such as part of a collection—not a problem for most people here.

If you can get past the typical stereotypes that east- or west-coasters have of fly-over states, I'd highly recommend Missouri.
I had a company in St. Louis try to recruit me. I flew out there, mostly to appease a tech manager that I knew who was working there. Not for me. Way too far from the ocean.

I hear ya, fencer, believe me. But hell, I took advantage of what was here and I have a daughter because of it, and I am not looking back nor do I regret it. I'm also not one of those multi-generation welfare people, either. I had my first job at 11 years old, delivering papers at 4:30 am, because my parents were struggling (though they're not anymore, they own their own business now) and I haven't been out of work for the past 30 years. I know who pays for that benefit. Me, through my taxes, like the rest of you that live here. So, really, thank you all for my daughter as well, I guess. Pride and ideology about not using something like Romneycare takes a side seat when you go through the emotional hell my wife and I went through for years. So I really don't regret it, and after the fact, I'd be a hypocrite to call out anyone else on doing the same - and I despise hypocrisy.

I really don't hate this state, aside from some of the people that live here and run the place, but given the opportunity, I'll be back in PA where personal liberty doesn't have such a heavy price tag.

And as I said (and you bolded it), we're here, and together we're making the best of what we have to deal with. I'm glad I found this forum because I feel less isolated now. I was surrounded by people like you in PA and I miss that, especially now that I'm surrounded by some of the people and politics I have to deal with up here in MA.

Carolinas. Not the hurricanes.
Utah. Plenty of room.
Nevada. Little warm but casinos.
Tennesee. Jack Daniels. Nuff said.

I like the ocean other wise it would be Wyoming/Colorado. Texas probably has the best job prospects and weather. Florida/Carolinas are just to wet and too humid for me
Eventually I'd like to rent in NH for the summers and Texas (Austin/San Antonio area) for the winters/majority of the year. Both are no tax states.

It would be either Cody Wyoming or Prescott Arizona. I've been to both and they are great places.

Cody is real nice.. if your retired with cash coming in or can find local work......great place to be. Definately not a big city if you need services though.

You don't like humidity, but San Antonio year round is humid.

That's one of the things that caused me to lean toward AZ over TX. I've been to both Iraq and Thailand and experienced temps well into triple digits in both locations. Dry heat really makes a lot of difference.

I love new England and hate the heat...all forms of it.

If MA doesn't get fixed, then VT or NH in the summer and FL or some coastal southern state in the winter. (Hey, I can dream!)

This thread is a joke.

This big game talk of hating the state you actually live in is retarded. Either that, or you, the complaining bitch, is a retard. Because if you truly hated where you lived, you'd do something about it, but you don't.

another out yourself thread. Except you're letting the world know that you're just plain stupid.

Which is why Wichita Falls area is what I am looking at, but leaning towards OK.
